Star Cineplex: Change of System

Thursday, January 31, 2008
Remember how we used have tickets like these?

But now... they've changed it to printed tickets like this..

Which very much reminded me of the ones they have at CineLeisure in KL..
Hence, I checked my wallet and found this...

See any resemblance?

Even the terms & conditions at the back are similar. Word FOR Word~

Welcome To The World of On-The-Spot Print Tickets

I've been watching movies almost every week and the moment they changed to this.. we didn't even get to pick our seats! The lady at the counter just picked for us. I don't know if it is permanently like this. It would suck so much if you can't pick your own seats!

I remember in CineLeisure's Cathay, we picked our own seats pointing on the screen 'in the table' LoL! (Well, the computer screen was inside the table..) Even in 1Utama's GSC, we could pick our own seats. Somehow I preferred Cathay.. maybe because of the very nice red, red couple seats and grand setting.

I hear that GSC will be opening in The Spring only by June. At least that was what my source said. By then, going to catch a movie would be so close! Especially when my university is just across the road from The Spring! LoL!

I can't wait!
Wanna go catch a movie???

typingtest.com

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

found a great website recommended by Alexius to check on my typing speed. LoL. If I was living in Melb. I could be working part-time for $18 per hour at the speed I'm typing! Have you ever wondered how fast do you type? =P

Whenever people look at me type on a keyboard, I often get remarks like these...

"Are you typing or playing piano on the keyboard??"

If you see my brother's PC keyboard, most of the printed letters are missing due to my massive amount of typing. Technically, my fingers has memorized almost all of the positions of the keys on the keyboard. Apparently, I need all 10 fingers to run about the keyboard.

Curious about how fast you can type? Try going to www.typingtest.com

Start the typing test

You have 3 options of time duration - 1, 2 or 3 minute

5 different test text to choose from

WPM = words per minute
CPM = characters per minute

My recommendation would be to do the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
I particularly like this one compared to the other test text offered.
Check the time duration and speed unit chosen and BEGIN typing.

Just start typing according to the text given.
Everything is accounted for including capital letters, comas and fullstops.
Mistakes made are highlighted in red.

Once your time is up, the result page would show indicating your net speed,
accuracy rate and gross speed.

Go ahead, try it out and let me know how you do. =)
*if paiseh, its ok no need tell me. treat this like a game! =P

Somehow being BUSY Is My Thing

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

I'm on my semi-holiday with dumb dumb LAN subjects but somehow I managed to make myself so busy to the point where I have lots of pending stuff to do. Especially home stuff, my room, my projects and meeting up with friends. Some have been put on hold for 2 weeks! OH NO! I feel horrible! Sorry sorry~ Will find a slot! Please bear with me for awhile though, I have a presentation, a quiz, an assignment and a final exam to get through~ =(

Can someone just STOP THE TIME for me? I need more of it.. Why does a day ONLY has 24 hours? We need more hours! Ok, maybe I need more hours! =P Soon it'll be the CNY craze.. That means lots of stuff to do and shopping~ Hrm.. Can someone replace me for that part??

I realized that 2008 so far has been totally different from 2007 for me. Right from the start of 2008, it was like drastic change.. CooL! So far I've been pretty good minus a few late night outings but its normally due to birthday celebrations plus a few rare CRAZY SHIT I do. =P Oh well, still young.. Should try the many crazy stuff before I get too serious and mature for stuff like jumping off heights and doing flips only to feel all sore the next day! A gymnast no more.. =( And suddenly I feel like going swimming! Ok.. crazy girl you gotta stop wanting to do so much!

I should go now.
Precious sleep I need, precious sleep I lack.
Good night!

Visual Learner

Saturday, January 19, 2008
I read something interesting today. Apparently, I am a LEFT brained which says that my left brain is more dominant over my right brain. The article said that;

1. Visual learners feel most at ease and in control in situations requiring verbal ability, attention to detail, and in-depth, linear, analytical ability.
**Not sure bout that~ but I like talking =P I find that if I talk, people would understand me better..

2. Visual learners focus on information their eyes pick up when trying to learn new information.
**Correct!!! I always can remember how a page looks which has the answers I need but I don't remember the words! Only remember things like doodles, lines and stains on that particular page! Idiotic me~

3. Visual learners respond well to symbols, written words, images, diagrams, and photos. For this reason, they probably like to have a pen and paper around to take notes, to doodle in a meeting, or to try to synthesize other data.
** That is so true, people who know me well.. I must have pen and paper, doodling while talking is damn important for me! Almost for anything, I need to write.. always.. I realized it more cause people around always ask me the same question, "Need to write again ar?"

4. Visual learners remember by writing things down and communicate well in this mode.
**Yap, I always prefer to write things down. Even when someone new is introduced, I would actually ask the person to write his/her name on a paper. So I can see and pronounce the name right. I always write my own notes. A lecturer once said that my method of learning is old-fashioned. =| I only know that by writing my own notes in my own way, I understand more and remember better.

5. Able to understand patterns visually and in numbers.
**Kinda like patterns, how the patterns work, why something is like that or moves like that. Intriguing~ Love numbers.. any number.. trust me =P

6. Left brain also controls the right side of your body. If you are strongly left-brained, you will find that your natural tendency is to be right-handed — though with some skills, you may find that you are left-handed if a left-handed person taught you how to complete a certain task.
**Wrong! Me is left-handed! But not a full left-handed person. I use right hand for playing sports and carrying heavy things.

Warren Buffett

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

Warren Buffett is the 3rd richest man in the world with Bill Gates being the richest man alive. Even though he is the 2nd richest man, he is still very much a human and is not drawn into the world of superficial materialism.
  1. He bought his first share of stock at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late.
  2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
  3. He still lives in the same, small 3-bedroom house in midtown Omaha that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
  4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
  5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
  6. He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His pastime after he gets home is to make himself some popcorn and watch television.
  7. Bill Gates met him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. So, he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became a devotee of Warren Buffet.

His advice to young people:
  • Stay away from credit cards and invest in yourself and remember:
  • Money doesn't create man, but it is the man who created money.
  • Live your life as simple as you are.
  • Don't do what others say. Just listen to them, but do what makes you feel good.
  • Don't go on brand name. Wear those things in which you feel comfortable.
  • Don't waste your money on unnecessary things. Spend on those who really are in need.
  • After all, it's your life. Why give others the chance to rule your life?

Chocolate Ice

This song is quite nice with jazz piano in it. It was really unexpected of Josh of Dizfunqtional to send me this song. Didn't think he was the type who listens to jazz. Not many people I know like jazz, ya know! Quite hard to find people who share the same taste in jazz.

Janice Vidal is her name. She's a female cantopop, jazz and R&B singer based in HK. She's mix Chinese Korean~!! =) Chocolate Ice is nice for late nights when you need something to sooth your soul before you sleep. =) I've got the song on the side from IMEEM. Have a listen if you are interested. =) Would only take 2mins and 50 secs of your time. =) I'm just loving the piano!! Haha! It can make a grown man's heart melt but something else hard.. Hahaha! According to someone!

Lyrics:
Bring me to the sea of sugar and spice
Reminiscing through sum chocolate ice
Tick tock take time to be gentle and kind
You sweat cause you run and run all day in my mind

Fly to the moon and the sun
And lets go have some fun
Come and take my hand and free your soul again
Fly to the moon and the sun
And lets go have some fun
Its 1, 2, 3 my love is plain to see
What I do for you baby do for me

Let me serenade your soul
When your feeling down and low
Let the music come alive
Let tenderness arrive
Let me serenade your soul
When your feeling down and low
Boy u make me feel so high
Together we can fly

JC's Birthday; 12th Jan

Monday, January 14, 2008

Happy Birthday, Jason. =) *pic from last year's*

It has become an annual thing to go your house on your birthday. =) It is always fun and meeting up with everyone again. This year was a little different with the presence of Yew Inn. We had the honor of having him around as our very own Barman. He mixes all the alcohol for us and we had fun drowning Jason with tequila shots, bacardi shots, champagnes and mixes of gin and vodka with a full bottle of red wine into the grand bowl of punch. Your speech that night was good~ Hahaa~ Very touching~~ HAhah!

Happy being 20, jason!
