Weirdo and Layer of Me Tag

Saturday, March 31, 2007
The 6 things you did Weirdo tag:

Here are the rules:
Each one starts out by telling 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write (in their own blog) 6 weird things as well and state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. After you do that, leave each of them a comment letting them know you tagged them and the cycle goes on.

1) When I’m in a good mood, I talk damn a lot. It doesn’t even have to be something with real substance. I can talk lots and lots of crap that sometimes people look at me funny and I’ll end up laughing at myself. And yes, normally the first few words in every new sentence is what you should listen to not the back because the back is just mumblings of my thoughts which you are not suppose to listen =P but I dunno why I say them out.

2) I’m always not in fashion and I like it that way. I don’t follow the latest trend. Mainly cause whenever I buy a new outfit I would keep it for sometime and only start using it for special occasion. I prefer to have my own style and whip up matching sets. If I can pull off looking good with outdated clothes means I’m good! =P Hahah!

3) I’m left handed but only for writing and eating. Badminton, bowling, softball, scissors and carrying heavy stuff I use my right hand. Don’t ask why, I have no idea. I think my left hand is weak and my right hand is stronger. But I hear its about which side of your brain works harder~ Don’t know~~

4) I always want something I cannot have but once I get it, I find that I don’t want it anymore. Weird, huh?? I guess the thing that matters the most is the thrill of getting that something. =P =P And I've come to a conclusion that everything has an expiry date of 1 month~ Ask me personally and I'll explain! =P

5) When I get angry, my chest hurts and I have difficulty breathing but I’ve never had asthma before. So I always try not to blow up cause the after effect is bad. Like even if I won in a quarrel, I still end up crying and have difficulty in breathing.

6) When I’m drunk, I’m quiet and sleepy but when I’m dead tired, I mumble tonnes and still want to stay awake~ That’s like so weird~~

PooL Party

Someone stole 4 minutes of my sleeping time! Waking me up before my alarm is very mean~ I can cry!! *sniff sniff* Anyways, yesterday I was just not on Earth. Physically, I was but my head was just not with me. It kept wondering off that even my lecturer kept looking at me expecting me to give answers or ask questions as I usually do but yesterday I just didn't~ I just couldn't think straight.

That probably was due to lack of sleep and a tiring week. Thinking I could get more sleep after getting home was like only something I can dream about as I never managed too. I guess I just want to do many things but like my body just can't take it.

Went to have lunch at Chicken Hartz buffet with the aussies and Ed. They had like shopping sessions and Dave got a spanking new CANON EOS 400D. The price has certainly dropped and they are like so nice with free gifts. I want!! HAhaha! No need la, I don't need such a huge thing like that. I prefer something small and compact~ Easier~! =P

At one point, we were waiting for Dave outside Sarawak Plaza and I just stood against the railing. I just put my head down and I just felt like dozing off there. But Ed was like, "Ui, don't sleep here." I was like.. "Yea, yea.. don't worry" But I still wanted to just close my eyes~

The roads in Kuching during peak hours is horrible~ It took ages to get from the city to Simpang Tiga area. Next time, I should just keep my mouth shut. Giving people options may never be the best idea. We went to get their stock of booze. A party without booze for them is not a party at all~

By the time we got back to the hostel, they were suppose to get ready. I just wanted to sleep. I just couldn't stand the drowsiness of being tired. We were suppose to send the charcoal over to the party first but never did that.

We arrived around 7.30pm and we were just about the first few guest as the only people there was like DJ C, MJ, Ramy/ Ramee and the chef at the BBQ~ So us guys set up our camp site by the table and they started mixing their punch. After awhile, more and more people came.

Full blast music, a pool at our disposal, food, killer punch and a crowd. Perfect equations for a party~ I got tossed in the pool almost 10 times. They like just didn't want to give me some ground time~ The one which hurt the most was when a few people was dragging the noob towards the pool but he got hold of me and I was dragged in too. That one hurt my right leg and I got cramps. Getting cramps in a swimming pool ain't fun~

It took MJ a hard time to get everyone to dance. Typical Kuching-nites~ At one point, quite a huge crowd was dancing but by then I was taking time off checking out all of them from the top. Hahaha~! Freezing cold especially when there was wind. I'm not surprised if next week, I start sneezing and catch a cold.

We left the scene by 11-ish and went for supper. By then, it started raining a bit. Imagine a whole bunch of soaked wet people getting into a car. It was 7 of us~ We got back to the hostel and everyone had a change and off we went to 'Travellator'. Rain was doing the 'best' job ever!

They managed to get away without paying cover charge to get in and for ladies it was free~ Sweet~~ It was super loud inside. I could feel the 'thumping' music in my chest. But after awhile, it sinked in and it didn't hurt that bad anymore.

Watching people shuffling is quite fun. Not to mention watching 'cartoons' dancing in funny outfits! Ok, ok.. I'm mean but seriously, they shouldn't try to follow everything they see in magazines! There was this one gal, she just kept wiggling her butt in huge rounds and her pants fell really low revealing her butt crack, I ended up laughing at it~ Adoi~ People should not give others a reason to laugh at them la!!!

I was wearing a huge jacket which belongs to Dan which covered all the way below my butt. I must be like the only non-sexy chick in the whole place but I didn't care. =P I don't need that kind of attention! I'm well off without it. But I became the person who keeps the booze. Hahaa!

I only managed to get back home by 2.30am. Mum was waiting for me. But Ed came up to explain to my mum and apologized so I'm good. Its just that now I have a fixed curfew which is 1am. =P I don't mind. As long as I'm not grounded. =P hehe!

It was a crazy full day and yes, I had such a full week. I still have a full weekend ahead of me. Amazing~ But I like being like this cause whenever I'm having too much fun, I feel so bad that I go home and study. I guess, my guilty conscious is catching up with me. =P Hehe!!

Gotta go now~ Toodleess~

Mumbling Sessions

Thursday, March 29, 2007

Please be advice that this next post is rather long in words and very negative. Discretion is advisable. Ratings: PG-13, 18PL.
Read at your own risk.

2-3 weeks ago, I wanted so badly want to cry to get rid of my flu which I was suffering from at that moment but I totally couldn't cry! I like listened to all the songs that I knew normally cuts through my heart and make me cry but I just couldn't! Cause to me, life now is like so good!!

And yes, if you are wondering why the hell do I want to cry when I'm having flu! That is only because.... yomI's instant remedy to flu is 'Cry Buckets!' and your nose will so totally run badly but it will be cured! At least, proven true by me, for me for the past 2 times I've had flu.

But finally today, I've realized another way to make me cry! That would be, to be mentally and physically exhausted... If you're wondering why is that so and how about I came to this conclusion, here's a short story of what a DAY I had!

"I woke up 1 hour before my alarm clock as someone 'very nice' had nothing to do in class and started sending MMS with pictures of his feet to me!! Today, I actually took the
MMS DAY seriously as every Wednesday, it is free MMS to any 016 numbers for DiGi customers!
Everyone was like sending pictures of this and that to each other in an sms-ing manner! Talk about free smses but with pictures! Double COOL! (I love DiGi, for now! =P) But yea, I received some pretty bad and obscene pictures too. Hrmp! Early morning send me picture of a urinal!! Like WTF, mate?? (dont mind the language =P)

Anyways, someone 'very nice' twisted/sprained my ankle the day before and so I was limping around and dragging my right foot. Mum had to give me a massage before I went to class. Good thing, my first class was on ground floor! So not much problem there. Someone 'very nice' had promised to carry me up 8 floors for my class since he caused my ankle to be in p-a-i-n.

But like yea, I never managed to get to that class. Due to unforeseen circumstances. It would have been P-A-I-N-F-U-L to walk down too!! Anyways, it was Prison Break sessions for me! Season 2, man! Like freaking awesome! I'm now catching the second season with a freshie. The freshie is not bad, he could catch up real quick since he didn't watch Season 1. So I'm his narrator explaining who is who and what is going on.

After a few dosage of Prison Break, I changed to watching a movie. 'John Tucker Must Die' I mean the title of the movie reminds me of 'Romeo Must Die' the which Jet Li was acting but like John Tucker's version is the high school thing with bimbo talks. I'll make a review on it soon. So I won't go into details here.

The moment I got home, I rushed to take my shower, eat my dinner (which I couldn't swallow 3 mouth of it cause I was in such a rush and I wasn't feeling hungry) and went to my student's house. Tutoring class~ I had time to study some and did some of my own work. Right after my class, I rushed to meet my group members for assignment and presentation discussion.

It took them ages to realized that the chick in glasses, with a long skirt on carrying a laptop was me as they've never seen me dressed up like a chick and wear glasses! They said I look like the girl from 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'??? I've never seen that girl, I don't even know how she looks like. They kept cracking up jokes regarding where I left my lamb under which tree cause apparently to them, I
live atas the pokok!

It seems like I am probably the only person who actually did something compared to all of them but like yea cause I'm the group leader so it is necessary for me to be a bit more serious but I hate it if people take it for granted that the whole responsibility should be on the leader! Hrmp!! >=0

We had a good discussion this time with more information going around and more ideas were thrown out on the table compared to the first meeting we actually had. Everything was good up to a point when I started to feel hungry and I smsed to Dan asking him if they've got bread or something that I could eat. He told me to just get it from the kitchen but like I wouldn't want to be considered a RAT STEALING CHEESE at night in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, my group members were still discussing but ONE particular freak -SW- whom I didn't like since the 1st time I met him cause when I said I'm working at night so I'm busy on weeknights he answered... "You work as HOOKER is it?" some where along that line and I was like.. "WTF, the last time someone called me a HOOKER I ended up not talking to the dude and since like we've got this assignment thing, you better not piss me off!!"
Like what an insult, man! So freaking degrading! I DON'T EVEN WEAR SEXY to Uni. I wear jeans and sport shoes everyday and with that look I can pass looking as a HOOKER, yea?! F**K! You don't joke about shits like that to a girl who isn't one!

I hate male species who think that the female species exist only to be used and played around with! And those male who actually PAY hookers for what ever sort of action in the room? You men are like so freaking sad!! GO GET LIFE! But heck, why do I care?? You can like go get all those STDs and viruses and die quickly!! That way, you will be erased from the face of the Earth!!

Anyways, back to the news.. (tat was like commercial break) -SW- and I got into a huge war cause he asked 1 question that really ticked me off which was,

SW:
"I don't know what my part is or more like I don't know what to do..."

ME: "What do you mean you don't know what to do?" (still trying to be nice)

SW: Looking at me and said..
"I just don't know what my part is.."

ME: Getting a bit piss off.. "What do you mean? I already told you what you part is and I've wrote it down for you what your part is." (Slightly raising my voice)

SW: He raised his voice and said..
"Yea, I just don't know! Cause this is all new to me and like I just came in from Form 6 not foundation."

ME:
"Oh?? And you think I'm from foundation?? I'm from Form 6 too! I was a freaking pure physics student and this is all new to me too! So don't give me that excuse that you are new to this!! You just have to read up on that particular chapter that you are suppose to focus on and derive the theory from it and then apply to the assignment! That is what all of us are doing!!"

SW: Then he's like getting all sensitive saying, "Why are you raising your voice at me? I'm only asking."

Fine, maybe I got a lil out of hand but it is not an excuse to say you don't know what to do and expect people to just feed you! For goodness sake, you're in University now! From then onwards, my other two group members were like trying to stop us bickering at each other and all I could think of was...
"This freak, the rest of us probably has to do his part as he's being such a NIMCOMPOOP and avoiding responbilities. Everytime saying his Streamyx is down and that he can't collect data. Like has this person ever heard of hard copy data??? Go out and search for it!!"

That totally piss me off and after some time we stopped and like I just didn't want to get on as I would probably end up with racing heart ready for a fight! But after awhile I was back to being cheery at least the other 2 and to my handphone. =) At least I was trying to be. The freak kept his gaze at me like as if his gaze would send out fireballs and burn me.
'Like whatever! You don't even contribute much! You're just a burden!!'

Dan came around and took my order. =P He whopped up cereals with honey and milk as it was the most instant thing I could get. I've never actually seen those cereals before but like it tasted good and the fact that I was hungry, it was good. So there, eating my dinner cum supper cum breakfast, being all fired up inside and freezing cold cause of the air-cond.

After the meeting, Ed like came around and said he would take me to get proper dinner by then it was 11.30pm already. I mean like, the dude drove back to make sure I get something to eat so like the thought counts but yea, I wanted something solid to fill my stomach. So I had Cha Kuey Teow~ and ended up dropping a whole bomb on Ed regarding what happened.

Pity him too as like he becomes my shrink/therapist/psychologist listening to everything negative from me. I think its been at least 6 months since I've sounded this negative and suddenly every single horrible memories came back and flooded my brain. So it was like bloody shit session for me~ I guess the whole pressure, rushness, tiredness, hungryness, piss off-ness really got to me this time. On such a full day.

When I finally got home, mum had already prepared something for me to eat which I didn't expect, so I ate some more and complained to my mum about that freak. I was like mumbling a lot but she could catch the first few words of every new sentence. I just sat on the foot of the stairs looking blankly on the floor with sleepy eyes and wham! Tears started coming out. I was crying after so long being unable to cry and now I'm just crying. I so need a hug now~ A virtual hug will do~ =(

The funniest thing though, when I'm drunk... I'm very quiet and sleepy but when I'm tired, I mumble so much as if I'm drunk. Hahahah!! Totally weird, man!!"

So there you have it, my story as how to make me cry when life is too good. Throw in pressure, tired, rush and piss me off. That should do the trick. But hey, I'm not giving tips on how to make me cry. Not unless I have flu! HaHa! =P

Thanx Ed, if you are reading mate! Sorry for making you a punching bag! But like I didn't punch you, right? Technically your ears are hurting, probably from all that negativity! Sorry, mate!! And to everyone reading this, I'm so sorry for all this negativity! I'm vending my anger and tiredness on my blog too~

So.............................................

Kenwy Music House Concert

Tuesday, March 27, 2007
Kenwy Music House organized a concert night last weekend. I actually didn't know about it right up til the night before. A dear friend of mine had some free tickets and he spared me two tickets. He briefed me on what type of concert it was so I had better choose someone who would appreciate fusion of chinese traditional and modern instruments.
Since its been ages since I hung out with my mum, I asked her to accompany me to the concert. WEeeeee~ Mum was happy that she was gonna go with me. But it was a pretty busy day... especially since my brother's DSLR konked out. *sniff sniff* We had to send it to the 'doctor' to get a full medical report as to what is wrong with it. Since it was still under warranty, we left it with the 'doctor' to deal with it. That means, 'bye bye, DSLR for 2 months!' Cry!!!! =(
We rushed back home to have dinner and just as we got out of the house, the rain started pouring like a cork was taken off from the clouds. Lucky, we got a parking spot easily near the theatre. For a banana like me, going to something which is in Mandarin is a bit cham but not so cham as compared to when I was younger. I now know more Mandarin words so catching a few words can help.
The programme list was in Mandarin, the MC spoke in high pitch Mandarin, speeches all in Mandarin~ My mum hated the MC. Her voice so high pitch that it was so annoying to hear her. Mum and I had to like cover one side of our ears to cut down the amount of sound getting into the ear.
The sound system really 'too good'. Everything so loud that I can cover both my ears and feel like I'm in a music recording studio. Performance was good. I like the chinese instruments. MonkeyKat's performance was superb! No wonder they won the Rexona Blast-Off Bandkuest which I missed last year. They performed the two songs the composed themselves. My dear friend who gave me the free tickets is one of the guitarist in MonkeyKat. =P
I managed to run downstairs to do some searching for DVDs! =P I finally found a 3 in 1 DVD of dancing movies which was 'Dirty Dancing', 'Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights' and 'Step-Up'. I know... I am like so totally addicted to dancing. Hahaa~!!

All in all, I enjoyed the concert minus the high-pitched MC~ =P So remember, if you want modern stuff, go for IMH Concerts. For more chinese stuff, go to Kenwy's Concert~ =) The choice is in your hands!!

Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights

Sunday, March 25, 2007

Since young, I've been obsessed with dancing that sometimes I would just start moving and grooving in my room. If you can move your body with the music without thinking of your next move, you are ONE with the music.

Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights shows how a couple each from different race, different background, different status come as one for a dancing competition. How dancing made and mold them together. How dancing is more than just steps. Its all that sexy hips, hands, twist, turns, grinding against each other flowing with that music~

Javier Suarez(pronounced Havier) is a typical Cuban guy who meets Katey Miller who migrated to Cuba due to her father's job transfer. Both Katey's parents used to be Championship dancers and Katey has always been fascinated with dancing. She comes across seeing Javier dancing in the streets and she liked it.

A Latin ballroom dancing competition was to be held and Katey was determined to join it with Javier being her partner. Katey with knowledge of ballroom dancing mix in with Javier dance moves makes their routine unique. They trained real hard and since Katey never had a guy touch her, she had a hard time letting go and let Javier lead. But with much understanding to the dance, soon she falls for Javier and that makes the dance look more real than ever.

Watching them dance is like watching poetry in motion. If I could move like that~ Foooo~ Yummy~ I know the basic ballroom dancing but never got to salsa. I know the waltz, quick-step, cha-cha, rock 'n' roll, samba and I think that is it. I even got dancing shoes for em' but they stopped giving lessons after 5 months of it. =(

Ever since then I haven't been doing much dancing except for dancing in my room for myself to feel the music. Try dancing in mc3 or soho.. No space at all or the guys will start shuffling. The essence of dancing has flown away~~

Like how Black Eyed Peas puts it:
I just wanna be dancing... dirty, dirty, dirty dancing~~ Anyone wanna take the lead? =P

V for Vendetta

This movie was actually from a comic book series written by Alan Moore. V is a character in the movie. He wears a face mask, hand gloves and a black coat. Covered from head to toe. Even his hair is a wig and he carries a few daggers with him. He fights for freedom and vengeance against the present Government in London.

Deep inside, V is a romantic man. He loves watching Edmond Dantes and he loves Jazz!! Me want him!! Hahha~ Except tiny mini detail, he doesnt have a face nor eyes. Hm.... me scared~~ I knew every jazz track he played on his jukebox. Cool!
Evey, the girl in the character... She shaved her head! Some more look so pretty~ Imagine me with bald head?? On second thought, dont imagine me bald~! Can't be a good sight! =P Anyways, she becomes V's successor and she actually kissed his mask.

The Government should fear its people not the people fear the Government. If every single person in a country goes against the Government, they have no choice but to step down. But that is just not the case here, if you know what I mean.

Everytime someone voices out their opinions or the unfairness of certain rules or quotas especially when it comes from the minority race here, the person will probably end up in jail for a couple of months. That is how the Government here shut people up. Take Lim Kit Siang for example, how many times has he been in and out of the prison? He could easily break the Malaysia Book of Records for that.

Anyways, could someone be V and save us soon!!????

Dr. Clem

Saturday, March 24, 2007

Introducing, Dr. Clem. He was a lecturer in University of Western Australia many years back and currently he is a consultant in the microbiology field. He contacted me via email to enquire about the location of Pasir Pandak after reading one of my post regarding a beach I went last year with my mates for a fishing trip. Since my mood was pretty darn good during those days, I replied and tried my best to explain to him as I thought he was a pure Sydney-sider.

After exchanging more emails I learnt that he is actually from Kuching and he was coming back to Kuching a whole month of holiday and hopes to cover Kuching as much as possible before heading back to Sydney. Since he was formerly living in Kuching, so it wasn't that hard to explain on the location of Pasir Pandak.

As the date grew closer for his trip back to Kuching, he asked if I wanted anything from Sydney like chocolates but I told him chocolates is just not my game, cheese is probably it. So he bought some cheese but unfortunately that cheese is now soggy~

After about 27 emails exchanged and a few smses, we finally met last Sunday. Since he has heard about Magenta, he had made a reservation there. I've never went to Magenta so I was having fun wondering if its good or not.

Dr. Clem here is quite talkative, same like me. We ended up talking non-stop even when the food came it took us ages to finish cause we spent way too much time talking. For someone like him, he does has a good sense of humour and witty too.

He is one lucky man. He has travelled to every continent of the world except for the America, Africa and Antarctica. I want that life! I just want to travel the world and see every place, feel the culture, analyze the people and just enjoy the moment! Ah... one can just dream...~~

After dinner, he suggested Tao or was it bing! for a cup of coffee but as usual, I suggested Hilton's Caffe Cino. Changed of venue once we arrived as there was just too many people outside so we moved inside to Senso. This time I had Naked Martini which was quite strong compared to the Peach Martini I had the last time I was there. We talked for about 2 more hours before he sent me home.

It was great meeting up with him as he has much to say about his life; what he has seen and done. When you meet someone successful in life, you just love to hear how started off and then get to where they are. That particular night, I lost my voice. Haha~ Talk about talking a tad too much.

My SoftShellCrab Caesar Salad with a bread stick~

My Braised Lamb Shank with yet another bread stick~ I was figuring out how I was gonna attack that piece of meat!! =P

Our dessert, Banana Cake with Ice Cream and Butterscotch Sauce~ Yummy~!

Ok, I know what some of you are gonna say cause I've already gotten some comments regarding those pictures.

1. Mum said.. "Aiyo, you look like cartoon!! Head big big, body small small"
That was regarding the banana cake picture cause that angle was bad~ =P

2. Andy said.. "Even the plate is bigger than your body!"
--- I feel sad~ --- Hahaha! NOT! I don't really care about being big or small~ =P

All these pictures was taken with a Nikon D200. Dr. Clem has like fully accesorised his Nikon with nice big flash light and funny lenses. =P I did get to play with it a little. Totally different feel compared to my brother's Canon EOS 400D. I still love my brother's Canon! muaks!

Enough about boys' toys. I have to go now. Bye bye!~!

wITH THE INCREASE NUMBER OF BLOGS, FRIENDSTER, MSN CONTACTS; THE INTERNET BECOMES A HUGE GRAND PARTY FOR EVERYONE TO MEET NEW PEOPLE. bUT SOME ROTTEN PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS TRY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SUCH SITUATION.

hOW GENUINE DO YOU THINK A PERSON IS WHEN YOU FIRST MEET ONLINE? hOW CAN YOU BE SO SURE THE PERSON IS BEING WHO THE PERSON REALLY IS? dONT BLAME A PERSON FOR BEING CYNICAL... ESPECIALLY IF THE PERSON IS A GIRL~

When a guy goes online in search of a future girlfriend, I think it is pretty stupid especially when the guy goes on mIRC, friendster or blogs and drop comments or chat up to meet. There are people who actually come online in search of future spouses but they do it the proper, legal way...
(a) Legal match-making websites which keeps tab on all members
(b) Penpals (the e-way)

At least those people have a real goal to reach not wham-bang and run~ I hate guys who think that the female species is a thing that they can use~ Bunch of idiots, not worth my 2-cents~ They act as if they never had a mother before. For guys who search online for a potential girlfriend, they always have certain standards or requirements for the girlfriend to be:-
1. must be pretty/beautiful/amazing eyes, smile, boobs >=[ , ass >=[
2. must be of same age group
3. must be single
4. must be of same race/religion
5. must have certain ideal body image~

And I'm not stereotyping all guys to be like that but some are seriously like that. Those few rotten apples are the ones giving a bad name to the male species which is 'cannot be trusted, pervertish homosapiens'.

No girls in their right mind would look for a boyfriend online. Young adult working ladies would maybe do the match-make thing as they fear of being alone for the rest of their lives. But youngs girls? No way unless they want to fall into a huge rape trap, then be my guest.

How are you so sure that after you have picked your 'perfect' girlfriend online that your 'lucky' girlfriend to-be will want you? Or feels the same way you feel about her?

So presumedly you call the shots but when it comes to the matters of the heart girls are just very complex beings. It is almost impossible to understand the female species. The closes a guy can get to understanding the female beings is how a girl respond to decisions or actions you make. Those are merely hints to help you out~

Now that I've roughly placed the cards on the table... BEST OF LUCK TO ALL MEN!

Teenie Tiny Mini-Hiatus

Tuesday, March 20, 2007
Due to unforeseen circumstances, yomI is mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually tired from running her real life and therefore virtual life has to wait for awhile.

Whenever you see that my post are very spaced out like the next is like taking a long time, it just probably my real life is doing a bit too well as compared to my virtual life. =) Virtual life will be very active only when real life has hit rock bottom or toned down.

Very sorry for the sudden stop in posts~ yomI will try to get back on her dancing, typing fingers and start writing a new post very soon~ So stay tune and don't go away! Hahaha~! No la, I don't force you to stay here, go, go, go read other interesting blogs~ =P And let me know if any good one comes up!!

Bye bye!

Concerts Back-2-Back

Friday, March 16, 2007

Since I really liked the songs I heard at the IMH Live Pop! Concert, I'm having a few songs on my playlist here on my blog. So like if you really can't stand music, just click pause on the player.

Its flash so like it can't be turned off by pressing the Esc button. If you're not listening to anything, take a minute and listen to the songs, I highly recommend them! =)

DiGi Concert~ This was how pack it was to just get the free tickets! I don't understand what is so great about Gary Chaw or Victor Wong until now. I'm greatly unimpressed!

IMH Live Pop! Concert~ I like got the ticket super easy, some more BenMoh delivered to my friend's house and we didn't even have to pick it up and squeeze our way to the tickets. And they impressed me tonnes!

As I have wrote in one of my recent post, I went for both concerts. DiGi sponsored concert and IMH Live Pop! Concert. Both these concert was held in Kenyalang with the exception of the DiGi concert was held in the Community Hall behind the market and the IMH Live Pop! Concert was held in the Theatre Hall.

You wanna know what the huge difference between these two concert????

Gary Chaw a.k.a. DiGi Concert
  1. Singing karaoke style
  2. Everyone was squeezing like as if it was winter! when it was NOT!
  3. If you're at the back, you barely see much.
  4. The only thing I liked was when the yellow DiGi dude came out! He was fun!
  5. To get in was hard, to get out was even harder!!
  6. I almost vomited 3 times as some people can really stink from all the sweat! Its not BO, it is just sweat with shirt-sweat zone! Yuck!! How can people stink that bad???!!! I had to like get on my toes and suck air above!
  7. Crazy kids pushing everyone as if the more you push you'll get even any closer to the singer.
  8. The singer meant nothing to me so like I only went to like see how it was and what the fuss is all about this guy.
  9. I saw lots and lots of cartoon a.k.a. Ah Lian around. Hai~ Have they thought of going for the elegant yet sophisticated look?? Not cartoon-like.
  10. Gary Chaw like only performed 4 songs! So few and like I didn't stay for Victor Wong, I had to get out!!!

    IMH Live Pop! Concert

    1. Live Music man!!! Keyboards, strings, drums, bongos, congas, sape, brass, back-up singers, main singers! The whole deal!
    2. We get individual seats but like hey, the songs were super great and many times I wanted to just stand up and start grooving. The crowd was like not alive though. So like if I stood up and start grooving people would think I'm drunk. If I was sitting at the side, I would definitely stand up and pull Dan to get up and groove baby!!!!!
    3. If you're front or back, you can see at least someone! Haha!
    4. I liked the whole event except for some minor tiny details which isn't such a huge deal.
    5. Eventhough there were unforeseen circumstances the performers all were very professional and kept their cool. There was a part when the main singer took his scores of the music stand when suddenly it drop. Marvin on the keyboard quickly sad, "Some powerful singing, man." And we all laughed. The main singer just smiled funnily with an 'oops' expression on his face. Cute!
    6. There were like so many familiar faces, my teachers, the performers, some ex-classmates, some ex-schoolmates and it was all good!
    7. The main performers meant something to me. I actually respect a few of them for getting to where they are now. Don't need Gary who!!??
    8. Number of Ah Bengs and Lians not that much. Very normal people around.
    9. I had a good time catching up with some teachers and peeps.
    10. The songs they played was like pretty awesome!! But like the only thing I could do was bob my head and groove on my seat~ They should have two concept for the concert, sitting and standing(dancing) section!

There you have it 10 super reasons and 10 super big difference!! So how to compare right? DiGi, fine la you got like some quite popular dude but like he ain't that popular since I didn't even know who he is in the first place.

I find that supporting people who actually mean something to me and people whom I know in real life is like so much better! Its like pretty awesome and I have to give it to them. They pulled it off this year. Compared the concert which I 'technically' watched last year, this year's was way so much better.

They had a whole fusion of traditional, modern, rock, jazz, chinese and malay songs. Total fusion man. All in their own rendition! It was superb! Here is a list of some of the songs from IMH Live Pop! concert.

      • A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton
      • Unwell - Matchbox
      • Only Hope - Switchfoot
      • Sunday Morning - Maroon 5
      • Hotel California - The Eagles
      • A Moment Like This - Kelly Clarkson
      • Photograph - Jamie Cullum
      • These Three Words - Stevie Wonder
      • Kenangan Yang Terindah - Samsons
      • La Camisa Negra - Juanes
      • Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance

The ones I listed down are like the few good ones which was performed during the concert. Some good singers to be noted down would be Adrian Lai, Kenny Tan, Shane and Christine Chai. The back-up singers were good too. =) Raenai, Olivia and Irene Jee too were singing, both my ex-schoolmates. I have to give it to Marvin though, he's like a maestro to jazzin up any song!!! Sam, the drummer was having a good time on stage. David Jacques was good during 'Welcome to the Black Parade'. BenMoh on the violin with the whole strings!

All in all, it was good. And someone wise said, "If you don't go, you would regret it". If I didn't go, I wouldn't know to regret or not but since I went, IT WAS WORTH IT!! Practically took me off my moodyness!

If some singer can sing on stage, interact with the audience and have good showmanship, he can be like jabbing 20 knifes into your heart singing a ballad song. I actually felt like crying after one of the song even Dan who didn't understand it said that he felt it. Now that is what you call good!

That is all from me reporting not-live! here from my bedroom after a whole week of wicked fun times and tiredness not to mention sick. =P And I still feel great! Life is good!

      The Pursuit of Happyness

      Monday, March 12, 2007

--- The Pursuit of Happyness ---

An Academy Award-nominated 2006 drama film. This film is based on a true story of Christopher Gardner, a family man struggling to make ends meet. Starring Will Smith as Chris Gardner and Jaden Smith, Will Smith's son as Chris Gardner's son - Chris Jr.

As we all know, happiness is spelled H-A-P-P-I-N-E-S-S but in this movie it is spelled H-A-P-P-Y-N-E-S-S, happyness. It all began when Chris Gardner sent his 5 year old son to a daycare in a Chinese community area. Outside the daycare centre there was a graffiti which wrote HAPPYNESS with a Y instead of an I. He was complaining to the person sweeping the floor about the right way to spell HAPPINESS with an I not Y.

One of the most famous phrases in the United States Declaration of Independence are 'Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness', words written by Thomas Jefferson. These three aspects are listed among the rights of man.

How did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe, happiness is something that we can only pursue and that maybe, we can never actually have it..... no matter what. How did he know that?

The Rubik's cube incident never happened. Will Smith, himself came up with the idea as he has always been fascinated with Rubik's cube. I've played with those Rubik's cube. Never could get it done. You will have to be a g-Enius to be able to do it!! I bought one for Feli a few years back from Singapore for Christmas. Wonder if she did manage to like twist it crazy and get it all back with all the same colours on each side.

When you're down, just go somewhere far away from anything, everything. Far away from cars, noise and your constant disappointments in your head and yourself. Take a break from all that and breathe!

      Rating: 4/5
Remarks: Inspiring and a nice definition of happyness but Linda, Chris' wife's part was really unnecessary.

Go pursue happyness and be happy!

      Life is good....

      Sunday, March 11, 2007
I was a dead walking zombie for 6 months and now life has certainly turned out great. I mean like in some ways its pretty sour but the sweetness overcomes it and like everything is so sweet~! The last time I was feeling this free was like before I left this place. The 1 month of bliss which I had then was grand but now its like wooottt!

Blissful days like these should come more often. Now say it with me, .....

      Life is good!

And if you don't feel that is right, I have a remedy for you. =P Say it a 100 times before you sleep and let me know if your day tomorrow turns out good!! If it doesn't, then dude... you need to loosen up and be free for just 1 hour! =)

Life is like being on road, you make your choices as to where you want to go. Take the wrong turn and heck, you'll be on the wrong direction. Take the right one and you'll reach your destination!

So now, go on a road trip!!!!! Get some life back into yourself!!

      DiGi: My favourite operator

      Thursday, March 08, 2007
I ain't gonna do the whole compare thing between DiGi, Hotlink & Celcom but I'll give you a brief idea of what is going on between these 3 operators. Everyone in Malaysia wants the cheapest and the best returns from using a certain mobile phone operator line. As the Chinese would say, "Yew pi, yew chi!" which means, "Its cheap and yet got quality".

DiGi is like on a commercial frenzy with the yellow suit dude supposedly is our lead to coverage and rubber ducky for FnF PLUS. They've also got the 'Messaging Day Promotion' going on now. Where you can send free BubbleTalk, MMS or XMS on certain days in the week.

Hotlink is now totally into music with their 1st in Malaysia, background music during conversation. You can talk and have music together. (For romantic purposely?? I wonder. Cause I can't imagine talking to someone with a hardcore rock music on~)

Celcom is still stuck on their "Guaranteed Lowest Price For 5 Months" thing. What's with the 5 months thing?? Are they like gonna hike up the price after 5 months?? How misleading is that? But they've got those football jocks and David Beckham with the line "What do you see when you see the colour red?"

Anyways, back to business. I love DiGi ! The whole system is super simple, no matter how many times they change here and there, I was always happy with the change. I am one of those who always complain to them though. I would either call or email them. Whenever I feel that I'm not happy about something, I will let them know about it so they can fix the problem.

Two years back, I remembered I was really upset about something and I emailed to them to complain. They actually replied me quite fast and they have this whole survey question which you can choose to or not to fill. An evaluation on their services.

They are after all going by both concept of marketing, B2B (business to business) and B2C (business to customer). Focusing on societal marketing concept will take them far. Enough about marketing, I'm not paid for this! =P

Ever since then they have been giving me free stuff along with all the DiGi Rewards. What I love most about DiGi is the rewards. I mean talk about reloading on your birthday and get 50% extra as your birthday present! Wooottt!

Now they've got the VIP Priority and I am considered a VIP to them! Weee~! I remembered they gave me 2 free tickets and snacks to watch 'RobotS' some time ago. Although it was only a cartoon but I so totally loved it. I was so happy watching it that I felt like I was 10 years old. I love that feeling.

My mum and brother were like, "Hey, how come I don't get free tickets and stuff". =P And now DiGi sent me an SMS asking me to collect 2 tickets to watch Gary Chaw and Victor Wong. Sounds good right? I mean its free some more. I have only 1 PROBLEM.

WHO IS GARY CHAW AND VICTOR WONG???!!!

Supposedly it says 2 HUNKS back-to-back but sad to say I don't even know who these 2 hunks are. Mum says I should just go take the tickets and then think about it later if I still wanna go watch these 2 hunks.

Supposedly its at Kenyalang Theatre Hall on the 14 March, Wednesday. On the next day, coincidently the venue is the same place as the Live! Pop Concert by IMH Academy which I plan to get my arse to since I miss the last one, last year. Technically, I missed it but I managed to watch the whole thing in the comfort of a room on a bed. ComfY!! Blwek! Don't have to sit still in 1 place with 100 over audience around me. I'm not really good with crowds. =P

I know some real good performers in there. It is on 15 March, Thursday, 7pm, Kenyalang Theatre. You should get your tickets early though cause I think they will be sold out by next week. So get you and yourself there and have a great time listening to a wide variety of music. If music is your life, this is something you should not miss!!

Anyways, with that I have given my reasons as to why I choose DiGi as my favourite operator ever! And also managed to do some promoting here and there! Haha!! Have to go! Its like super late and I thought this was going to be a short post!

p.S. : Ah ben, I stole the poster from your blog! Happy?? I promote for you and babi Adrian some more! Hahaha~! Gambatte! You better be RED HOT next Thursday night, babe!

yomI's guide to eating right without falling ill......

      Monday, March 05, 2007

Since I once lived away home, I would know how it feels like. When you were back home, everything was done for you. Your meals were always prepared, your laundries were always done, everything seemed easy. But once you leave home, all alone... it doesn't seem that easy. Compared to the amount of fun you have living away from home replaces the chores and everyday life things. Food is super important but excessive consumption of bad food is bad! So here is a list of heaty food, cooling food and neutral food.

Heaty Food - items which can cause heatiness in body, sore throat, ulcer on tongue, gums and throat, break-outs of pimples.

      1. Fast food (McD, KFC, Pizza Hut) should be taken in a moderate amount and not for every meal. As yummy as how all the fast food looks, they kill or maybe just torture you at the end of it.
      2. Fried noodles, fried rice, fried meat with rice.
      3. Alcohol: beers, vodkas, wines, brandy, etc.. these should not be taken everyday in large volumes. Alcohol causes the body to dehydrate. That is why if you have sore throat, never drink alcohol. I tried it once and after that, I totally lost my voice.
      4. Peanuts and cakes actually causes heatiness when consumed in large amounts.
      5. Pepper: White or Black pepper. As delicious as it is to sprinkle peppers in your soup, porridge or steaks, be careful to not over do it as a large amount of it can lead to feeling heatiness.
      6. Fruits: peaches, mangoes, durians, grapes and even mandarin oranges are said to also cause heatiness.
      7. Snacks: Chips, french fries.

Cooling Food - items which are good for the body and cooling. **Should be taken if you have taken lots of heaty food.

      1. Vegetables: Broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, cucumber, bitter gourd (yuck!) are examples of good veggies which are good for you!
      2. Meat: Crab!!!
      3. Fruits: Banana, watermelon, star fruit, pineapple, pear
      4. Drinks: WATER!, tea, barley, sugar cane.
      5. Spices: Salt, tumeric (kunyit).

Neutral Food - should always be taken and you don't have to worry about the after effects of heaty food or having to find cooling food to counteract heaty food inside of you.

      1. Vegetables: Sweet potato, brussels sprouts, snow peas (eeeee!), corn.
      2. Meat: Pork, beef, duck.
      3. Fruits: Apple, papaya, dates.
      4. Drinks: Milk, honey.

Those who only loves eating meat should at least take lots and lots of fruits. I have come across friends who dislike eating vegetables even my own cousins. If you don't take fruits or vegetables, you will most probably suffer from constipation. Break-outs of pimples will happen and your body will feel heaty most of the time as all that heat emitted from the food is still stuck in you.

Drink sufficient amount of water. Everytime you take a leak, you are disposing heat in your body through your pee! That is a good thing unless that is your pee is super yellow which could mean you are diabetic or you just love drinking sugared water with lots of artificial sweetener and colouring.

So take a moment to think about your daily diet. You can save yourself from those torturing ulcers, sore throats, constipation and breakout of pimples by just watching out what you consume! =)

      Have a great week!

      F. F. F. F.

      Friday, March 02, 2007
Guess what the 4 F's stands for....

February was so much fun! Here is Sue. She's a Korean, working in INTI College. She is my mum's friend. Look at her skin!! Practically glowing healthy! I want!!! So beautiful like all the other Korean actresses in Korean dramas.

These are the lucky boys who were at my house when Sue was around. Ivan in white and Mike in orange. Mike was getting jealous as all the attention is to Sue. Well, Mike also has very soft baby skin face. So smooth and clear! I want!!!

Then my sister had to go back to Singapore. *sniff sniff*

When everyone looks decent, I had to spoil the picture by doing something stupid! =P

And suddenly no one revealed their teeth except for mummy! =P

A few friends were back for Chinese New Year so we all met up and had a drink at Senso. We went to finish Jason's bottle of Absolut Vodka. Yummy stuff! Along with nacho chips! Lots and lots of nacho chips!

This pic looks a bit weird, look at Jason's left hand...........

Jason, Feli, Sebas, Ping & Ron!

I won this! A whole year supply of sweets and a hamper of snacks!! Hahaha~!! I counted the sweets, over 500 sweets and decreasing now cause I ate some and my brother stole some! HEhe~!!

This is Dan and that is me super simple without any make up on~ -.-"

He's trying to look all innocent~~

The guy on the right is Evan, he's from Penang. Both these dudes are future engineers~

Last night we went out with Jason for one last time before he left for Sydney. We had dinner at Toh Yuen Restaurant. Yummy yummy food. The menu was Hot & Sour Szechuan Soup, Butter Prawns, Ostrich Meat in Lemon Plum sauce, Sliced Abalone in Oyster Sauce and Red Bean Pancake for dessert. Sorry no pictures. Wee hehe!~!

The food was great but I think the Butter Prawns triggered my food allergy attack. I was literally feeling on fire. Ronnie said I looked like I was flushing red. No itching what-so-ever. Just painful stings of burning sensation on my skin. Reminded me of the song, On Fire by Switchfoot.

After about 30minutes, the allergy attack subsided and I was ok again. Luckily. Mum was worried since I smsed her to tell her. She made my brother call me to ask how I was. =P Hehe~! We moved over to Senso bar and sat in our usual corner. It was a Martini night. I had Peach Martini, Dan had Apple Martini and Jason had his usual Vodka Martini. Ronnie kept to his usual Hot Chocolate. =)

      Laid back dudes~

      And I dislike candid shots~

Group photo! Winst, the assistant restaurant manager. He's a real cool sport. No matter how menacing we were, he always played along!! Fun!!

And that ends our little farewell get together for Jason. Bye bye Jason!!! Til you get back, we'll be sober! No more crazy nights with tricks and punking each other! =( awwwww~
