JC's 19th Birthday

Sunday, January 21, 2007

This was about 10 days ago. I know.. me is so slow at updating~ Normally I gotta have the right mood then I'll be happy sitting here and posting up pictures along with lots of words.

JC is a friend of mine whom I had the privilege of knowing since 2 years ago. He is very tall. Well, at least taller than I am that is. I think maybe a six-footer?

Long body + Long legs + Long hands + Long face = Long person. I have no idea what 'else' is long. I don't dare to ask. ;p Haha! [Dude, don't kill me if you are reading]

You see! Taller than me by a head and neck!

He celebrated his birthday at home with his family and relatives and lots of friends. We had a lot of yummy food to eat and not forgetting his mum's roasted lamb. Delicious!

Nice food

Nice living room with ample space

Funny expressions...

Upon looking at the cake we brought for him..... he couldn't believe his eyes.

The Birthday Cake... nice design right? custom made.. Converse, Jason's favourite brand for his shoes..so nice.. I want also~~

Everyone singing the birthday song in 3 different languages... hahaha..

His friends

His family & relatives

After tasting the american chocolate cake... yummi-fied!

And then Jason's dad asked us to go in for disco! Like so cool right? Funny but cool dad..

At about 11pm, people started leaving. And we gave Jason's his birthday present...

A huge Liverpool fan, he is.

The new 'Liverpool team'.. Haha

Groupie pic

After all the photos.. we just sat back and talked..

Of course, with Dean and Sean doing something crazy always...

Someone clever go stake up the cans..

There was only 4 of us left by midnight. So Jason's dad gave us some good advices on how to live our lives. Only Chin, Dean and I was paying attention. Sean and Jason was chatting about something which I'm not sure of since I was paying attention to his dad.

After that, his dad showed us his treasure box a.k.a. his display case. Telling us about his collection of souvenirs from Germany, Australia, China and lots of other places. I remembered lines like... "Stupid Germans give me whisky with gold flakes inside, how I want to drink..." or "All these gold cutleries, I will give Jason when he gets married which marks that he was born with a golden spoon in his mouth." ... or ...."These two pairs of chopsticks is from Beijing, China. I hope my son will have TWO wives then each can feed me with these chopsticks." And he proceeded to laugh out loud. Haha.. Under the influence of alcohol~

And then open up the lowest part of the display case and... hoo... he sure has a collection of liquours.

Woooooooo.....

Lookie.. Casino Royale Smirnoff Original vodka

Queen Margot Scotch Whisky.

His dad actually wanted to open the new German whisky with gold flakes in it for us. Chin, Dean and I was like.. "Uncle!! Don't need to open to drink.. " So in the end, he took out the Queen Margot whisky for us all to try. Sean, the driver didn't drink. =) Safe driver is he.. yesssshhh...

We finally made a move at 2.30am and I only reached home at 2.45am. Luckily, I didnt get killed for coming home late. =P I guess cause my mum knows I'll be in a house not outside lingering goodness knows where. =)

Gone are the days...

Friday, January 19, 2007

Gone are the days when nothing in the world could dampen my spirits. Gone are the days that once made me feel on top of the world. Gone are the days when everything seemed just right.

Having a younger sibling isn't always fun. Sure you have someone to talk to, get opinions, share problems. That is only half of the point of having a younger sibling. The other half is where you are suppose to set a good example for them so that they are able to follow your footstep. I guess its kinda like a trend you set. I know I look at my own sister a lot and try to be a bit like her but yea, I lack the independency part.

Apparently my choice of coming back is now a new trend. I hope for it not to be though. It is nice to be a trend setter but not when it comes to things I'm not proud of. I'm not proud of quitting my uni. It is only a relief to be away from that foreign land and be back in my hometown, in my own home, my own room.

Studying things you like or have interest in is a bit overrated. I was studying what I liked. Well, sort of. Hell, it was music for goodness sake. Something I have planned out since I was 16 years old. But look what happen when I got there. Total culture shock, standards of studies below par, housemates were beyond toleration and the whole flying-bus ride transportation thing just killed the hell out of me. Though I must say, all the exam I went was easy. Amazingly, I didn't need to put much effort. Maybe cause I have all the knowledge ready intact.

But please people, if you have your family around you.. just do your part and study. After graduating then you talk about what you are interested in. Famiglia is importante! Remember that!

Ristorante Beccari

Wednesday, January 17, 2007
Ristorante Beccari, this great Italian dining place in Merdeka Palace. This was awhile back. My second time coming to Ristorante Beccari and it was as satisfying as the first time.

For starters, they served bread with spices in olive oil.

Then there was the Portofino Salad. Everything was fresh down to the very last salmon. No mayonaise what so ever, just spices and olive oil. FRESH! Syiok!

Gran Trittico Toscano which is everything pasta served in 3 different sauces. So instead of getting only one kind of taste, you get a variety.

Scottadito di agnello con risotto which means Grilled Lamb Chop with risotto. Risotto is a traditional Italian rice dish. The grilled lamb chop comes with a nice sour sauce in which it just compliments the dish.

Polleto Rosmari is grilled chicken served with salad and potatoes. It was finger licking GOOD!

To top of such a satisfying meal would be enjoying it with the people I care for the most.

Con mia famiglia!

It was a nice evening with my family. It is not everyday that my sister is back in Kuching. Family first, everything else second?... wee hehe~ =)

Anyways, if you can afford going to The Junk, you can afford going to Ristorante Beccari. If you can afford Tom's, you sure can afford this. One pizza in this Italian restaurant cost the same as a pizza in pizza hut. Trust you me on this~

The Right Music For The Right Mood

Friday, January 12, 2007

It was just a typical night where I would just come to my laptop and turn it on to find something interesting to do. As usual, I would turn on my media player and click on my favourite playlist. Log into MSN. But today I looked through my Local Disk (:C) to find things to delete.

I was looking through some old pictures and my emotions went like kaboom-down. The song that was playing on my media player was totaly in sync with my emotions. Though it seems "wow" but yeah, I didn't need something to help me affirm my emotions at that time.

Ever had the feeling where you feel like your whole chest just felt like falling inwards and as if you feel so darn empty? Normally that happens when I'm shocked or damn taken by surprised that I thought my heart forgot to beat.

There is one song in particular that makes me cry everytime I listen to it and what is so great about it is that it was a song sung by a friend. Almost everyone whom I have let them listen to the song says that he has a great voice and if given the chance he probably can make it.

Well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. If that happens at least he will come out of his depression. Music is a big part of me. Though I'm not going to pursue music as a degree. It will still be a hobby of mine. =)

Weddings

Thursday, January 04, 2007
Its just the season of weddings and love is in the air. Not forgetting all this rain we have. It just doesn't seem to stop. Happy couples getting married in churches, having their wedding reception in various hotels, relatives get togethers....

So everyone is happy together in love in the new year. When it comes to marriage, how do you know if the person is the right one? How do you know? You're suppose to spend the rest of your life with that one person. Have childrens with that person. Sleep with that one person, eat with that one person everyday of your life. *tries to imagine...*

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So it comes down to the question as to how do you choose your lifetime partner?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I figured out a few possible ways, which goes like this...~

1. He or she is the perfect one for you, you met while in high school/ university.

2. You were set up on a blind date by your oh-so-caring-friends. Which actually turned out great.

3. He or she was your best friend, stuck with you through the thick and thins and somehow the chemistry only kicked in late.

4. You are getting old and time is running out, so you do the online match thing.

5. You are getting old and your parents are trying to set you up - arranged marriage.

6. You sit at the kopitiams or cafes just hoping your dream guy or girl will just show up..

7. The very first guy or girl that catches your attention in a bar??

8. Your colleague at work. Nothing better than an office flirt going around but bad for working hours. HaHA!

9. Your long term boyfriend or girlfriend though the relationship has been going dull, you're hoping to spice it a little by taking the whole thing to the next level.

10.You post up and ad in your local newspapers and hope for the bEST! =P

What do you think of the idEA??? HaHA! Too much to ask for?? Don't email or call though. The number you all should recognize. So don't try it. =P
