Those Were The Days

Saturday, December 31, 2005
In a few hours time it will be the start of a new year, 2006. Looking back this year, a lot has happened and many memories to cherish. I would say there were a lot of drama this particular year. I lost my cool quite a number of times this year and each time the pain got worse in my chest.
The best part about having a blog is that you can look back at what you've done and maybe even laugh at it. Since you only blogged about things which were important to you or has an impact on you, looking back on it you'll remember how it was like then.
The year 2005 would go down in my history as the year I had lots of fun and learnt a thing or two about life. Its interesting when you start comparing the years you've had. You'll see the big difference in each and every one of them. I guess when you're 50 and look back, you'll take a long time thinking of all the years.
2005:
  • The number of friends I have increased by two times.
  • I realized that I have friends who are really dear to me.
  • I realized that I'm good with kids.
  • I realized that I actually have low self-esteem.
  • I realized that I hate being alone. I hate the feeling of being alone.
  • I'm still childish in certain ways.
  • I learnt to download albums and movies fast online.
  • I learnt to compromise with certain people.
  • I learnt that not all friends are nice people.
  • I learnt that I always think of the worse rather than the best.
  • I learnt that you tend to be comfortable with people you often see.
  • I learnt that whining and crying will not help in any situation.
  • I learnt that I have a long way to go in life.
  • I learnt that songs that make me cry should be saved for sad days.
  • I learnt that I have limited confidence in myself.
  • I met a special person and lost him in the same year.
  • I now know the meaning of getting hurt multiple times.
  • I hate studying last minute.
  • Depend on yourself and you should be just fine.
  • Don't expect anything about anybody.
  • Don't let someone get too close which enables them to mess you up.
  • You can't help people who don't choose to help themselves.
  • You can't please everybody.
  • You want something, go get it. Don't wait for it to come.
  • Do what makes you happy not what makes other people happy.
  • Think far about your future and don't ponder too much about the past.

That is just about what I've learn this year. I wonder what I'll learn in the year 2006. Maybe I'll learn to be independent and take care of myself. I don't even trust myself to take care me so how am I going to take care of myself? Hm... I will just have to work on that. Hehehe~~

Happy New Year and hope you all have fun ushering the New Year tonight!

Take care, yomI

You Know It's Bad When....

Thursday, December 29, 2005
You unconsciously said............

"Friends are only a figment of your imagination"

I guess I've just been disappointed too many times that the word 'friend' doesn't really exist in me anymore. Sometimes it is just so hard to distinguish between real friends and those who are only making use of you.

That particular line above, I said it right after listening to a radio advertisement on Hitz.fm with the tagline "Everyone have the right to have a friend". My sister heard me saying, "Friends are only a figment of your imagination.....". She was like, "Oi.. that is so disturbing!!". Haha...

When you've been disappointed so many times that you choose to safeguard yourself from getting disappointed by fearing for the worst in things so that when the worst comes, you already prepared for it and there for you won't get so disappointed about it.

Someone said by doing so, I'm such a miserable person. I always think of the worst and am not optimistic about almost anything. Then oh well... my life is such a misery then. Since that is how some people think of it. But to me, I'm just preparing myself for the worst....

I've never told anyone this but for my SPM English essay paper we were given a few choices to choose from. There was one title, FRIENDS which I chose to do because from all the experiences I went through the years in St Teresa was enough to give me points to write.

I didn't write such a happy essay though. I wrote the truth about people and I even gave examples from my own experiences. When I passed that paper up, I already had an idea of how the person marking the paper would think of me. 'This sad old girl, what does she know about friends? Wait til she gets to the working world...' Lucky for me, the essay was good or else I would not have gotten an A for English in SPM.

My years in St Teresa taught me much about people and how amazingly self-absorbed they are. The best part is that people always underestimate others. They think of you as a fool and very naive. I know a lot of people who think of me that way. It is so hilarious because at the end of the day I am the one laughing at them when they thought they have the last laugh.

You can have friends and trust someone but just be careful with what you trust them with. "Your Best Friend Is Also Your Worst Enemy" I read that once on a board on the wall in the school office. It hung right above with big bold letters just so you notice it. When I think about it, it can be true....

Your best friend is someone you trust in. You tell them everything about yourself. Imagine if the friendship turned sour and you became enemies? Don't you think they have just become your worst poison of all? The one who knows all your secrets is now your enemy.

You be judge of who really are your friends and who are the one just disguised as your friend. Watch your back because I know I'll be watching mine. I always have and I always will. Never underestimate anyone just because they look timid. They can always turn around and bite you. YUM!

KING KONG

"IT WAS THE BEAUTY THAT KILLED THE BEAST."

It's scary when it needs to be, it's funny when it needs to be, it doesn't miss a beat, the story is classic, and it's got great visuals! It is a 3 hours film. You sit til your butt hurts. You can scream all you want because all the girls will be. I sure did. Haha... First time I screamed without caring about others listening to me. Everyone else did it too. It was fun!
I was so into the movie, I didn't realise the time passed until 2 hours into the film. It suddenly got into a quite boring scene so I took a look at my watch, 2 hours passed and the scene hasn't reached the city yet. They were still on the mythical island.
Naomi Watts (ahem.. me =P) looked beautiful throughout the movie. There's just something about blonde haired ladies with fair skin. I think Nicole Kidman looks very elegant most of the time. Jack Black is always the eccentric guy who makes sure he gets what he wants. He pretty good at potraying it in the many movies I've watched. Adrien Brody, the real hero behind the rescue of the damsel in 'distress'.
The supposed King Kong took the sacrificial human, Ann but ended up liking her. It was hilarious when he would just knock her off her feet and laugh at her for falling down. The dinosaur parts.. Weee~~ That's the fun part. I get to scream so much. Hahaaha.... The dinosaur scene is the best part in the whole movie. You should just keep your eyes open during that scene.
I guess I won't tell the ending. Everyone would kill me if I do. Heehe... Go catch it in the cinema. Best to be watched with big screen and surround sound system. Make yourself fully comfy in your seat. You'll be there pretty long. Haha..

Hyung Woo & Soo In

Ji Na & Alex Hong

I'm sure a big number of you have watched this Korean Series. I'm always the slow one, catching great movies long after it has been out. Anyways, I've managed to hold up from watching this particular series for 2 weeks but now I'm addicted to it. I'm only half way through with it.
The reason for the hold up is that the first few times I watched it with my brother and sister on my sister's laptop, I felt like it insulted my intelligence. The whole series is so sappy. (I wonder if there is such a word) Sure it is a very romantic series but some of the scene are so over done.
A good example would be the kissing part. Whenever Hyung Woo wants to kiss Soo In, the whole thing goes on slow mode and it takes forever for his lips to reach her lips. The whole scene would at least last a few minutes. They want to make sure you watch them kiss. Hrmp~! Every kissing part is so amazingly awkward because for one, Soo In doesn't open her mouth. Haha.. It is just hilarious to watch.
But I'm watching because? I have no idea. To fill in time I guess. The series is so surreal. Obviously, I wish there was a guy whose character is like Hyung Woo, just minus his hot temper and I wish I was as pretty as Soo In, just minus the double chin. Hehehe...
I guess if I want a guy like that I would have to find an old fashion type of guy who wouldn't mind to cook for me meals, do my work for me, give me rides on the back of a bicycle and bringing me to the beach to play with the waves.
See... movies are bad influence. They make you think you want something which is just not possible. I'm starting to hate romance movies. They are so annoyingly making me so jealous. HEhehe.. I guess the reason why we watch movies like this is just because it seems so perfect and although they are always twist around in the plot it still somehow ends with the trademark "HAPPILY EVER AFTER".
But for those of you who like romantic series with lots of twist or the love triangle thing, you should watch Love Story In Harvard. It'll feed you with all that sufficiently. Hehehehe...

Wide Awake

Sunday, December 25, 2005
It is 7.28am, on Christmas Day and I'm awake. Surprisingly, huh? No, I didn't come running down the living room checking the Christmas tree if Santa did drop a present for me. I only managed to fall asleep maybe around 5.30am after thinking too much. Someone 'wise' said that my way of thinking too much is making my life a misery. So that would make me a miserable person, wouldn't it?
Anyways, at around 6.30am I woke up to a girl screaming and banging the door. I thought it was just in my head but then suddenly my sister sat up looking out the window. So, I wasn't hearing things. So I got out of bed and walked down with my sister. The girl was screaming, "Pa, kui meng!!" which is, "Dad, open the door!!" She was crying and banging the door. The first thing that came to my mind was some freak lock his daughter out early in the morning. I wanted to shout, "Freak, its 6.30am in the morning. Just let your daughter in. Some people are trying to sleep!!!"
But when my sister and I got down to go out to the back of the house, the crying and banging of the door stopped. We heard a man, her dad opened the door and the first thing he did was shout at her, "What the hell are you doing!!??" Then she was crying and mumbling a lot. The most I could hear was, "I couldn't open the door!". The father shouted "You think ghost wanna find you izzit?". The girl was coughing and choking in her own tears by now.
My sister and I walked back up to try get some sleep but we ended up not being able to sleep. My chest hurt from that shock I got. My sister thought something happened to the girl, like her father was beating her up or something. Turns out maybe she had a bad nightmare and she couldn't open her own door. Poor girl though. She cried so badly but her dad ended shouting at her.
Imagine you saw a ghost or had a nightmare and you just can't open your door. You start screaming and banging the door for your dad to open the door. Thinking your dad would come and help but suddenly he opens the door and starts shouting at you like you're a lunatic. You all must remember to shout for your mum whenever you encounter something scary. Your mum will first fee; scared for you and when she does open the door, she will comfort you instead of shouting at you.
Never call for your dad, then don't have that maternity love for kids. Men's first instinct is to shout at you to stop you from crying and shouting. Won't you just get more scared? Gosh, I think the girl now is totally gonna have a phobia of sleeping alone. What a way to wake up for Christmas. Hrmp~!~! People need their sleep!!

Christmas Day

Its 1.16am on Christmas Day. I’m home with my family. We had just finished watching ‘A Lot Like Heaven’. It is a funny nice romance movie. Then why do I have this very crummy feeling in my chest like I’m very sad? I’m listening to Michael Buble, his Christmas album and I can feel tears building up in my eyes. Why? I don’t know why. It is just this crummy feeling or maybe Michael Buble just sings too slow that the song sounds sad. Alcohol would come in handy just about now.

I’m guessing lots of people are at the midnight mass with the Carol Singers singing happily. A few would be wearing Santa hats. What is the connection between Santa and Jesus who was born on Christmas Day? Santa as far as I know, is actually Saint Nicholas. His gift-giving role in Christmas rites probably follows from his fame as the friend of children. The story also tells that he used to give anonymous donations of gold coins to persons in need.

I hate feeling like this. Tis the season to be jolly. Haha.. How come I don’t feel like it? Hrmp~! This is annoying. I didn’t get a visit from Santa but I do have one present. Only one… isn’t much but at least its something. Its something very funny and I better not say what it is. No one in this life time has ever given that to me and I think its hilarious. Feli, I shall tell you how long it last once I feel like using them. Hahaha…. It looks like it will tear if I even try it on. Hahaha…

I should end this post here and maybe sleep. Merry Christmas everybody. I hope you all are having a better time than I am. Just remember to say “Ho Ho Ho!” and be merry.

MrBrown Show - Zhng My Car

Friday, December 23, 2005
I'm sure most of you heard of or watch 'Pimp My Ride'. Astro subscribers would sure know about this show as our normal national television does not air it. Well, a few Singaporeans came up with an idea of making their own 'Pimp My Ride' show but it is called 'Zhng My Car'.
The word 'ZHNG' in hokkien means decorate. The show is made by two guys known with the nicknames MrBrown and Miyagi. The whole recording is done in Miyagi's home. Unfortunately, this show has no video. It is only a voice recording. It is almost like listening a radio show.
Each show is about 20 minutes long. Johny is the host of the show 'Zhng My Car'. Singlish is widely used here in this show. I guarantee this is seriously how Singaporeans speaks. I witnessed it when I was in Singapore. But when required like Gurmit Singh, he is able to not use Singlish while hosting shows other than Phua Chu Kang.
'Zhng My Car' would remind you of Phua Chu Kang. Sometimes, Johny shows a bit like Frankie Foo. On 'Zhng My Car 2', they had a guest from Kuching, Kenny Sia. As most of you know, Kenny Sia is that blogger who really is into himself. On 'Zhng My Car 3', they had a Singaporean gal with the nickname Little Miss Drinkalot, who writes a blog too.
Listen to these only if you are really bored and got nothing else to do. It doesn't take much concentration since I listened through all 3 shows while doing lots of typing. So go ahead download and listen. Don't like it. Delete. Like it, Listen lo.

Siblings and Gals

Monday, December 19, 2005

In the afternoon, I went out with my brother and sister to Saberkas. He just wanted to go look at laptops and my sister and I just wanted to see what goodies we can buy for snacks. Heheh... We had two hours there. We walked around looking at computer parts and laptops. It sucks a lot when you can only do window shopping.
At 4.30pm, my dad came to pick us up and drop us off at church. I saw Dean and Milton across the road but too bad I couldn't walk over to talk to them. My sister wanted to go for confession. She had earlier on made an appointment with Father Albert. In the end, we stayed for the daily evening mass. It was faster than normal weekend mass.
At around 6pm, my mum picked us up and we went home. About half an hour later, Anna Bella called me telling me that maybe Angel can get the car and we would be able to go the St Teresa gathering. By then, dinner was already on the table. I got ready in about 10 minutes and managed to gulp down my dinner before Angel came.
Victor, Angel's friend ended up picking us all up since Angel couldn't get the car. After picking me up, we went to Anna's house. Then Eleanor's house. I hugged Elea and she greeted Anna. She shooked Anna's thigh, Anna in returned wanted to do the same to Elea but she touched my thigh instead. I was molested!~!~! Help! Hahha... Then we went over to pick Vivian's house to pick her up and met up with Sophia at the St Teresa carpark. We drove to Hui Sing to get some food since it was a potluck party.
We arrived at the party fashionably late. I think it was after 8.30pm. The party was suppose to start at 7pm. We all ate and catch up with each other. Some were watching tv. American's Top Model was on Channel V. I don't know why those models want to put themselves through such mean remarks and comments. Hai~
We started taking pictures using Angel's phone. They took many pictures. Then Vivian used her FunTwist digital camera. It looked pretty cool. She can set the timer for it take picture by itself. So nice. Hehehe... Photo shooting time. *Snap Snap Snap*
Then Karol left and we left right after that. Victor who dropped us at the party was supposed to meet his friends but they left him behind and went to watch King Kong without him. So he waited for us to finish with the party. He even ate dinner by himself at Hui Sing. Poor thing~
So, Sophia drove us to Hui Sing and we met up with him. We all sat down and had a drink except Anna, she didn't want a drink. We talked and laughed. I must say we were a bit loud. I started telling them about the prom I went last week and started to make them suspense. Sophia did not like listening about scary events. A guy was behind her taking a bowl away and she didn't realize until she turned and she was surprised. Adds to the effect of my story telling. Heehe.. She moved away and sit in between Anna and Eleanor. From there, I explained to them about the significance of 3am. Heard it from 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'.
We stayed there until everyone left. The only table left was ours. It was almost 11pm. So we left the place and sent Anna home first since her parents prefer her to be home early. We waited outside of Anna's house and figured out where is the next place we would go. A white dog was walking towards us and Sophia suddenly on her headlights. The dog jumped in surprise. Hehehe.. Soph is so mean. Disturb the dog.
In the end, they decided to go clubbing. So we drove to the city. Unfortunately on a Monday night, Grappa was pretty empty. So we decided to move to bing! instead. The place was quite full but in the end, the waiter told us we could have the comfy couch but Elea prefered the back so we moved to the back.
We sat and talked again. From time to time we would burst out into laughters. Victor's friends who ditch him came but before they arrived we wanted to make them regret ditching him. So we made him sit in a more 'cool' position. Since his friends ditch him, he gets to hang out with 6 gals or rather 5 gals then since we sent Anna home.
A friend of Victor, Henry sat with us and chat. Angel went out to talk to the other guys. So we continued talking and laughing. The things we do best when we get together. At around 12am, bing! was closing. So we had to make a move. We couldn't figure where else to go. Angel didn't want to go home yet. So Sophia sent Elea, Vivian and I home first with Victor tailing behind.
I got home around 1am. Luckily, my mum was ok with it. I guess coming back at 1am is better than coming home at 2am. A difference of one hour. This is the second time I went home at 1am and my mum's ok with it. Yay! But Kuching is so boring, there isn't a nice place to sit down and talk after 12am. Oh well~~
I hate being a bum at home. I want a job. Something to keep me busy and yet still earn $$$. I'm just rotting away if I continue being like this. I need to change my sleeping hours and do something more useful. Hrmp!~!

Eleanor, Me, Angel, Anna and Vivian in the middle.

Big group photo. Angel and Sophia missing.

PS: The lighting for the pictures a bit no good. The first pic, dunno why Vivian turned yellow and the reason why the second picture is taken so far its because no one was holding the camera. HEhehe..

Discover Music - Pandora

I've found this great website which gives you the chance to discover music an easier way.You will to able to listen to different songs but in the same genre or similiar type to the ones you like. That way you will get to know more songs and even like songs that you didn't know of. For a person like me who gets super bored with songs easily, I'm happy to come about this website.
You can create as many "stations" as you like. Each station you create, you enter the title of the song or the artist's name. The player will search for you and play a certain song from that artist or the song title you gave. After the first song, it will start introducing another song by another artist but the type would be still the same.
If you happen to not like the song which is being played, you can forward and it'll find a different song for you. You can refine your stations by letting the player know if you like or dislike a certain song. If you like the song, it will play more of that type of songs. If you don't, it will not introduce songs like that.

So for you music-lovers out there, here's a great website for you to check out.

Great Day

Wednesday, December 14, 2005

Today, I went out to watch 'The Chronicles of Narnia' with Hazwan, Julian, Soffian, Sung and Ning Yii. By the time we went to buy the tickets, more than half the cineplex was full. In the end, we had to split into two groups just so we don't have to get seats in front. It was 12.30pm at that time so we went down to Life Kopitiam for lunch.
We all had Butter Chicken Rice while Sung and Ning Yii had noodles. I couldn't finish the chicken though. The butter was quite rich and I actually had lunch before going out. It started to rain heavily. We talked and most of the time it is Julian making witty remarks about me. Hrmp~ But I do get my revenge alright. Haha..~
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. The visuals for this film are absolutely stunning. Just breathtaking. The acting is done well, the voice-overs included. The CG animation on the creatures are great. Though I must say that the Lion did look fake to me. Hehe..
This film succeeds on many levels, it would be possible to discuss it in many different veins: the direction, the story's surface-level themes, the theological possibilities, the drama, the fantasy, the adventure.... Yes - it's an action film, a dramatic film, a fantasy, a somewhat-dark (yet hopeful) fairy-tale. It has humorous moments and frightening moments, like most truly great 'family' films always seem to have.
Movie ended and we had to wait because Sung has to send Ning Yii back before so that there would be enough space. So while we waited we had a drink downstairs. We went out when Sung called but we could find his car and he was bad at giving the exact location of where he is. We walked around under the rain looking for his.
My shoe is slippery on rainy days, I was trying to avoid a puddle of water when I slipped and managed to land on my right hand supporting my body and my legs were in an awkward position. Cool but luckily I didn't injure myself. Julian and Hazwan helped me up. Finally we found Sung's car. Julian made sure I walked in front of him so that he could catch me if I slip again.
I got home around 6pm. My mum came back and I had dinner with my family. Around 6.45pm, my mum's friend called me and asked me to go out have dinner with my godbrother, Darius who has a 3 day break. It was better than I expected. I expected him to be all grumpy and mean but he was the total opposite telling us about his experiences in the centre. Sure, he did talk some crap but he's much better than how I remembered him to be.
He'll be a free man in a few months time. Hopefully he won't repeat the same mistake again. He's good at talking but he's a happy-go-lucky person who lives for the moment only. Anyways, we went to Chef At Home situated near Hui Sing Garden opposite Wonderful Cafe. I had Grilled Chicken Chop and Darius had Sirloin Steak (medium raw). Darius' steak was still red on the inside. He was complaining that it was not raw enough. He wanted the juicy red blood. Yuck~ He kept poking at the meat to show me the raw part of the meat. *feeling like I'm gonna hurl*
I'm so proud of myself. Hehe..~ I finished everything on the plate myself. Today, for lunch I had two meals and for dinner I had two meals. Cool~ Yummy~! HAHAHA.. Now, who dares say that I eat too little???? Hm...?? Hahaha..
Darius asked me to join him to go eat BBQ with his friends from the centre but I know if I were to follow him, I wouldn't be able to go home tonight. He even said I could stay overnight at his grandma's place. CrazY~!~! My mum would skin me alive when I get home. HAhha~ I've never gone out without going home and I don't wanna start now.
After dinner we sent him home to his grandma's at Riverine Suites. He asked me if I wanted to go swimming. At night!!!~!!!! Who swims after 9pm?? It must be freaking freezing cold to swim at that kind of time.
All in all, I've had a great day. Eating and catching up with friends and my godbrother. Having a great time for my holiday. Hehehe.. Now, what should I do tomorrow? I have no plans tomorrow. Maybe I'll just sit at home. HEheh...
That's all from me now, yomI

All Girl Outing

Tuesday, December 13, 2005

I went out with Feli, Jerusha and Zara today. Jerusha is currently in form 4 going to form 5 while Zara has just finish form 5. They are gals from Maths tuition. They are fun though they are younger. I guess, I mix well with people younger than me. Hahaha~
Anyways, four of us went to watch Aeon Flux in Star Cineplex. I didn't know that the management of Star Cineplex changed movie day for last week and this week to Tuesday. I wonder why. Maybe some gimmick to make more money on Wednesday since they know everyone comes on Wednesday. Its freaking pack on a Wednesday.
Aeon Flux, hm..... well, I went to watch it without expecting anything much. What I can say is that Charlize Theron looks good in the movie. Her hair-do is unique and amazing it stay so nice even while she's fighting. I know, I know.. they have make-up girl to do it for them on set during filming. She had the 'I am cool' look in this movie. In other movies, she has the elegant look. Beautiful and would just take your breath away.
Remember the movie 'The Island' ? It is also about cloning but cloning for body parts. Between 'The Island' and 'Aeon Flux' which do you think is better? Aeon Flux has a lot of computer graphics and stunt moves while 'The Island' is more plain and simple.
The movie Aeon Flux focused a lot on the sexy curves that Charlize Theron has and a lot kissing parts. It seems that they just have to go very detail into that part. I was wondering why the form 5 last week was saying that they liked the part when she woke up. That particular outfit was practically not necessary. It covers niether here nor there. I guess that part is purposely done for men to watch.
Accoring to a report, during the shooting, Charlize Theron suffered a serious neck injury while performing a back handspring. She was hospitalized in Berlin for five days and it took about six weeks of physiotherapy to recover. That must hurt a lot. I guess no stunt doubles was used for her. Hehe...
At first I thought Marton Csokas who is Trevor Goodchild in the movie wasn't that good looking but after awhile, he is quite good looking from certain angles. I guess it is really important to get the right angles when you want to make a person look good. Hehe... So remember that when taking pictures of people. Hahahaha...
After the movie, we went over to Zara place which is in Riverbank Suites. She just recently moved in. The place is so fully secured. Too secured if you ask me. It is even more secured than a hotel. Hahaha~!~! We all went to look at the view from the balcony. See all the kampung and the brown dirty river. Then she brought us up to the top floor which has a swimming pool, gym and laundry room. Talk about giving us a tour around the building. Hehehe~
By 5pm, we were on our way back. Ronnie smsed me saying he saw my sister in McDonald though he wasn't sure but he says that my sister looks exactly like me. I wish~!~! My sister looks better than me like 10 times more. His eyes are sharp because he actually saw Feli driving pass while he was going the other direction.
It is expected that at 5pm, the city is freaking pack. Obviously, traffic jam. We used the small roads to get around but even so there were queues around. We were at the back of Harbour View when all of a sudden I saw Bernard. He jumped out of the car and started waving right outside my window. Hilarious. He was with Zilla, King and Calista. He waved madly after that. Hahaha~ I do miss seeing him. He's one blur, funny guy.
Then we sent Jerusha home. Turns out she live pretty close by. I got home just around 6pm. So that's a day out with the girls. HEhehe.. Its pretty refreshing for me since I'm always out with the guys. Heheh~ I guess I should go now. My brother has been standing at my side for the pass 20 minutes waiting for me to finish this post. Gotta go.

Bleach Fever

Song of the week : Arigatou! (Thank You!)
Artist : Home Made Kazoku
Soundtrack : Closing Theme for Bleach
Download :
Arigatou - Home Made Kazoku

As stated above this song is the second closing theme for Bleach, the anime. The anime is great. Takes a lot of concentration though. The lines are witty and sometimes they are just so idiotic. All the pride and ego. I love this song especially the beginning part. The guitar part is really nice.
The song is mainly about saying Thank You to friends who has been giving support. Appreciating friends. Being thankful having great friends who go through thick and thin with you. Having friends around makes your life more meaningful.
So remember, friends are everywhere but true friends are hard to find. When you do find a true friend, keep them close to you. They will be more than happy to help you in times of trouble. True friends are people you can trust and they trust you too. They would never do anything to harm you or hurt you. If they do, they are not your true friends. Any misunderstanding, be straight forward with it. Solve it as soon as possible so that your friendship can still be saved.
That's all from me, yomI

Burnt to Glowing Red

Saturday, December 10, 2005
Jason and Julian woke me up to go down for breakfast. The standard of the buffet breakfast has really dropped since July. I remembered back then there were better food and a wide variety. Julian and I were on a mission to take back some food for the rest. So Julian took sausages, donuts and black pepper steaks. We wrapped the donuts in tissues while the donuts and steaks we squeezed them into a bowl and put it all in my bag.

We got back to the room and woke up the rest to eat. Hehe.. Talk about smuggling food out. Heehe.. I went over to Room 1403 and they were playing PS2. Sean and I were talking and then Jason came in. After awhile, I fell asleep again. I woke up at around 11am. Went back to my room and packed everything. By 11.45pm, I was walking from room to room to remind them to get out of the room soon since we were checking-out by 12pm.

My room was very nice and quite clean. Room 1408 was a bit messy with rubbish around but the damage was not that bad. Room 1507 was totally horrible. The moment I went in the housekeeping lady came in and said to me "Teruk la". The beds were still on the floor, bed sheets, pillows, towels were everywhere on the floor. A lot of rubbish around. Empty bottles or full bottles. Cups with water still in it were even on the floor. Horrible. I had to call Ah Chin and Jason to come over to help to clean up a bit. Room 1403, I didn't manage to see as they were the last to leave and I was on my way down to the lobby to check-out.

After checking-out, we were on our way back with Kulow driving Sean's van. There was 9 of us. The ride took about 45 minutes with one pit-stop at the Petronas Station where all of them got out of the van to buy drinks except me. I was just too burnt to get up. Throughout the trip, I kicked Sean's fingers. Damn, his fingernail on the last finger was really long and sharp. Only then I realized why my feet felt a sting of pain whenever I use my slippers. I got cuts from his fingernails! Everytime he tickle my feet means he would be grabbing real tight on my feet. HRMP~! Oh well, everytime we 'fight' I am sure to get bruise or cuts. Hehe.. I'm just too fragile, I guess.

The others were either using their own cars or taking the shuttle. Most of us were in pain from sunburn. Sean dropped most of us at school and we wait for our own transportation. Jason's mum gave me a ride home. Luckily, I have my own set of keys. I tried calling home a few times but no one seems to pick it up. My brother didn't even pick up his phone.

I guess that's the end of my vacation. No more vacation for me anytime soon. I don't know when I would see them again but for sure we are to meet again during Chinese New Year. Although I only really got to know them this year, I feel like I've known them for ages. They make great company eventhough they are younger than me. Hopefully, we would all stay friends and keep in touch eventhough we would be going our separate ways.

I guess this is all from me for now. My skin is glowing red and my back is in pain. I hope with a day or two the pain would subside but I think the burn is permanent for a few months. So I'll be tan for a few months. Hehe...

Bye bye, yomI.

Fun Filled Day

Friday, December 09, 2005
Brendan Lo woke up first followed by Brendan Chin. They both left the room pretty early to go 'dating'. Hehhe.. Dean called a few times and chit chat with me though I just woke up. He gave me a report on who woke up first and last. Funny~ Poor Gerard slept without blanket. After we had breakfast, we went for a swim. We even brought a beetle we found to swim. Jason Sim and a few were playing cards in the pool. I think we were in the pool for almost 3 hours. Coming out only at around 1pm.

My skin was glowing red and it really hurt. I should have gone back earlier. Since the occupants of Room 1403 were still in the swimming pool, I borrowed Ben's 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory' dvd and watch in Room 1403. A few came in later to watch. Jason Chang was sleeping though. Sean and the rest came in. We were all just watching Johny Depp being Willie Wonka giving a tour in his chocolate factory. He is just so weird in that movie. Almost like a mental patient.

The movie ended and most of them went down to the beach to play beach football. Julian, Brendan Lo and I stayed back in our room and just rest since we were all burnt and painful. We talked and talked about various topics. After half an hour, Julian and Brendan went to the swimming pool to swim while I went down to the beach bringing down Sean's camera for him. Brendan Chin, Jason C. and I took a walk along the beach towards the other end. I wasn't in proper swimming attire so I couldn't swim in the beach. The water only reached my thighs.

The water from the stream towards the beach was ice cold. It felt totally different. When we got to the end, it was not a very good sight though. You can see rubbish and cigarette buds around. We walked back. If you walk along the beach with the waves coming and back forth at you, if you look down while you walk, you are sure to get dizzy. I guess seeing the movement of the ground in a different direction makes your mind go a bit dizzy.

We went back to the room and got ready to go to Dolphin Seafood. Twenty of us went to have dinner there. Brendan Chin and I did the ordering. We had 6 dishes.
  • Fried Oyster Egg
  • Fried Noodles
  • Szechuang Soup
  • Lemon Chicken
  • Midin in Red Wine
  • Japanese Beancurd in Claypot

Everything tasted so nice. The guys really ate fast. If the plate has gone one round, you may not be able to find much left of that particular dish. The cost for both tables were Rm260 which meant each person only had to pay RM13. Very affordable. At least for RM13, we ate really full and we barely could finish the last dish, the beancurd.

After that 9 of us went back to the hotel in Sean's van with Kulow driving while the other 11 took the shuttle back. I sat in front with Kulow and Sean. I didn't realize I had to wear seat belt. Sean had to strap the seat belt on for me. Oh well, most of the times I do forget to wear seat belt depending on whose car I'm in. We all had to walk up the hill since the van has to be parked downstairs. Well, a little walk didn't hurt. Brendan Chin and I went from rooms to rooms to collect money. The last room we visit were watching 'The Exoicism of Emily Rose' and a few others were outside cooking burger. I actually didn't want to watch but my curiousity got the better of me. I didn't really get to watch the whole movie because they were half way through the movie and some of the parts I was either closing my eyes or closing my ears.

The hilarious part was when Jason Chang came in and we didn't even realise. He was asking questions and a few of us were answering his questions about the movie. When Brendan Lo and I realized, we were like "Since when he was in here?" Hahha... Benjamin was passing around burgers. Feels like a cozy cineplex. We watched til the movie ended. At the very end of the movie, everyone crawled closer to the screen to read. Movie ended and people started leaving the room. I know I was stoned. I'm always like that when I watch or hear scary and gruesome things. It will take me a few minutes to return back to normal.

Jason and I went to Room 1403 only to find Gerard and Ridhwan were the only ones awake while Dean, Milton, Kulow and Sean were sleeping. After awhile, Ridhwan went to sleep. I played a racing game, Burnout 3 with Jason and Gerard but my attention was just not there. It was almost 1am by then. I was playfully poking on Sean's nose and suddenly he woke up. After which he didn't go back to sleep anymore. Both of us were hoping either one of us would fall asleep and he or me could play tricks.

Sean was threatening to put toothpaste on my face and my burnt skin. We ended up fighting on the bed. Literally. I was kicking a lot because he was tickling my feet and I was trying to tickle him. But after awhile I actually fell asleep. When I woke up, Sean and Jason was telling me that while I was sleeping, I was like having electric shock. They said that they thought I was awake but they tried to wake me up but I was really asleep.

Jason and I went back to our room and got cleaned up to sleep. Brendan Lo and Brendan Chin took up so much space on the other bed that I also didn't dare to wake them up to move. Gerard and Julian were on the other bed. Jason could easily just sleep in between them since there was just about enough space for him. In the end, Julian offered to sleep on the floor. Poor him~

With Friends

Thursday, December 08, 2005
I just got back from a 3 days, 2 nights stay in Damai Beach Resort. On Thursday, I remembered after midnight I was rushing to finish Honey & Clover. the anime. I finally finish to the very last episode ar around 4am. Being the clever ass I was. I only started packing then. Packed in half an hours time and went to sleep at 4.30am.

At around 10am, I woke up. I rushed and got ready. Did some last minute packing and Mike came with his dad's car since his car is still in the garage. He gave me a ride to Jason's house. Luckily, Mike could give me a ride or else I would really have trouble asking my dad. Hehe..

By the time I got to Jason's house, I only realized then that I've forgotten a whole box of chocolates which I had bought from Singapore for them. Argh.. I left it in the fridge and it was on my last minute list of things to bring. I had lunch with Jason and then Brendan came. We discussed about the trip and transportations.

Around 1pm, Jason's mum drove us up to Damai Beach. Some were using the shuttle, Jason Sim and Kulow drove up themselves. We reached Damai Beach at around 1.40pm and I checked-in. The queue was so long. The one thing that really made me panic was that I totally forgot about the deposit that you have to pay when checking-in. The deposit was RM200. I panic. I only had less than RM70 in my wallet. Luckily, Brendan and Jason had some cash so we combined our money. That means that right from the beginning of the trip, all 3 of us were already broke. Hahaha..

As annoying as it was, they didn't give us connecting rooms. All four rooms were either a room away, a level away or a block away. Everyone else arrived and settled in. By 4pm, everyone was in the swimming pool. The weather was just nice. Cloudy and the sun didn't really shine brightly and hot.

Brendan Lo found our room and chose to stay as he saw that our room had no PS2 and it was just pretty quiet. We watched Chase and Kopitiam together. Our room 1401 consist of Brendan Chin, Brendan Lo, Gerard, Jason, Julian and me. In room 1403, Sean, Milton, Dean, Ridhwan and Mike Kulow were having so much fun playing the PS2. Room 1408, Jason Sim & his friends were busy playing PS2 and also cooking on a stove on the balcony. As for room 1507, I didn't really know what they were doing. To be exact, I don't really know them either.

A few of us decided to go down to walk and enjoy the wind and the sound of the waves. The waves were huge. They practically reached the pavement for walking. I was scared that I would get wet. We walked around looking for Ah Chin. We found a few in the bar playing pool. After that, we went out and sat on the bench. We just talked and mainly we were talking about 'when we were young' stories.

Since the mosquitoes were just loving us there, we started walking up. Gosh, it was tiring. My thighs felt like they were gonna just give up. We reached our room and suddenly it started to rain. Luckily, we got up before it started to rain. Jason and I went to check on every room to see what mischief the others were up to.

Sean's room was loud and I was scared that they would bug the guests next door. They were playing football on PS2 and they started jumping and shouting when the game ended. Milton and Ridhwan won. Sean and Ridhwan was shouting in disappointment.

Room 1408, they were quiet eventhough they were playing with PS2 and quite a few were not in the room. When Jason and I went into Room 1507, it was so awkward because to begin with, I don't really know them. They were mainly from 5A, here under Ah Chin.

Jason and I went back to our room. Brendan Lo & Julian were already laying on the bed, talking. So Jason and I joined in and talked. Brendan Chin finally got back telling us about his adventure to Damai Lagoon which didn't turn out great because it rained. Then Gerard came in saying he was hungry. So a few of us had noodles for supper. Sean, Milton, Ridhwan and Kulow came in suddenly. They couldn't stand Raymond who was acting like was high on drugs. Hilarious.

After awhile, they left and we talked until everyone suddenly fell asleep. I didn't really had a good sleep as Julian took more than half the bed leaving less than half the bed for me and Jason. I kept waking up because I felt like as if I was going to fall of the bed. Brendan Lo, Brendan Chin and Gerard slept opposite ways on the other bed.

Home At Last

Monday, December 05, 2005
Finally, I'm back after 8 hours of suffering throughout the day. Anyways, the total weight of our luggage checked-in was 37.8 kg. Hehe.. Heavy. That is 2 boxes and 2 trolley bags. My sister and I had ham & mushroom spaghetti. Yummy~ The Johor Airport has been renovated nicely. Brightly litted though.
On board the flight was torturous for me. I almost vomitted but the only thing that came out was air. Yuck~ Just thinking about the flight makes me sick. The flight was only 1 hour 20 minutes and it felt like 3 hours to me. Imagine if I have to fly to USA for a wedding. =P *hint hint* Heheh.. But for a special wedding I guess I won't mind. Haha.. *wink*
First time in years, the JHB-KCH flight was on time. It is a known fact that this particular flight is always delayed at least for 2 hours. Surprisingly, everything went according to schedule. The only thing that was not in the schedule was the on-going renovation at the Kuching Airport. It was flooded inside at the Arrival Hall. Up the ceiling you can see the wires and pipes looking like big silver worms blowing out cold wind which is supposedly the air-conditioning.
When we arrived, we waited a long time for one last box. Hrmp~ Apparently it fell some where along the belt. All wet and yucky. My sister and I came out and walked with my brother. Guess who I met? BERTRAM. Hahah~ He gave me big big welcome home hug. Unfortunately, it was only a coincidence. He was waiting for some international students for the YCS thing.
Was home in 30 minutes time and man it feels good to be back. I can be back to being lazy. Hehhe.. But just awhile ago, I got phone calls regarding the trip on Thursday. I guess I can't rest until everything is over. This is so gonna bug me. Oh well, my super long vacation with breaks in between. HAha~ Gotta go now. I wanna have my dinner. I can bet I won't be full tonight as I have been for the past 5 nights. I will have to cook my own food later. Hehe~ Getting to used to eating full. Hahah~

Walking and Eating

Sunday, December 04, 2005

I'm still Singapore. I've been trying to blog for the past few days but everytime I try, I'm just so tired that my brain just can't think of the right words. Anyways, so I'm here. I'll make this short and sum a few days into one post.

01 December 2005, Thursday

On the second day I was in Singapore, we had to go to Changi Airport to get my sister's bag fix. The last time she came back to Singapore some stupid ass poked the zip on her bag and dig into her bag. When the luggage came out, everything looked like it was spilling out her bag. She arrived in Johor at around 6.30am. There were no officer to deal with her yet so she had to wait until 8am with everything peeping out from her bag.

It is no wonder why Changi Airport is rated the best airport in Asia. It looks great and I saw three soldier patrolling around holding guns. They have their fingers on the trigger. Imagine if suddenly they got shocked or miss a step on the stairs and suddenly touched the trigger? Die~

Anyways, we had a drink at Starbucks. It tasted great. HEhe.. Right after we dealt with all that bag thing, we went to Orchard Road to meet up with Joel in the Paragon. For dinner, we went to Thai Express. I've been waiting to go there for one year already. So I ordered the Tom Yum Fish while my sister had Prawn Omelette. Joel had Prawn Wraps. They serve ice water along with any other beverage you want.

My tom yum came the latest and it took me hours to finish. It is physically and mentally challenging. I couldn't really talk. Everytime I put a spoon of the glass noodle into my mouth, I have to concentrate so much on trying not to feel the hotness on my tongue. It stings. I started to feel my stomach burning half way through the tom yum. My sister said my face was so red.

It was funny for me to be drinking from three different cups. I think one guy was watching me and was thinking I must be so greedy. Each round I would drink the ice water, then the cup of warm water and last the watermelon lime. My sister also ordered Banana Fritters which is a few pieces of fried bananas with ice cream. We shared the dish. It was a great relief for my tongue.

After dinner, we walked along the nicely decorated Orchard Road. Filled with lights and big Christmas tress. We did take a few pictures with Joel's camera. Now if only I can get the pictures from him. Hehe.. I drank too much that I had to find a toilet but after the visit to the toilet, I felt like I was going to hurl. Saliva just kept coming back up to my mouth. I was trying hard to keep it in. I had to type on my sister's phone to inform her. Luckily, after a few minutes I was back to being ok. But on the bus back to the hostel, I felt like hurling again. That's what happen when you eat over your limit.

02 December 2005, Friday

We got out of the room pretty early today. Was out by 10.30am. We took a ride on the MRT to Kranji and from there we took a bus down to Johor. We got down at the checkpoint and did all the immigration thing. From there we just walked to the nearest shopping complex.

Since it was Friday, we didn't eat any meat. My sister and I had Fish & Chips in Secret Recipe. I'm not a big fan of Fish & Chips so I just thought the lunch was alright. Believe me to be spending in Malaysian ringgit was a big relief. I didn't have to times everything with $2.22. Hehe.. Then we went shopping upstairs. I bought lots and lots of things though. HEhe.. Many girly things. I saw lots of dvds and series of Smallville, Alias, Harry Potter, Lost & etc.

We even went to a salon to have a hair wash and a cut. HEhe.. I loved my new haircut for the last two days but today, I don't like it anymore because I can't blow dry my hair like how they do it. Hrmp!~! It looked better after they blew dry my hair. The gal who washed my hair thought I was not from Malaysia. Haha.. The lady who cut my hair thought I was Jap. Hahaha..

My sister bought four cakes from Secret Recipe to bring back to Singapore. The queue at the immigration on the way back was so long. It was like a half an hour wait. Hrmp~! We reached back in Singapore at around 6.30pm. At Kranji, we went into This Fashion and bought lots of clothes which made a big hole in my big purse. Hhaha..

Then we went back to Jurong Point to eat at the Banquet. I had Fried Oyster Egg and Fish Soup with my sister. The fried oyster egg was quite thick and no I don't particularly like oyster. Hehe...

03 December 2005, Saturday

Today both my sister and I woke up at 12pm. So today is REST DAY. We stayed in and I slept the whole day. So tired from all that walking in Johor. We went out for dinner at Jurong Point. My sister let me roam around Jurong Point for half an hour and I bought a few things. We met at the supermarket to get more groceries and then we went back. Her roomate came back from her camp. Extra one more person in the room.

I went down to the TV room and watched America's Sweetheart alone. I watched it twice on board a flight to China few years back but I never got to the end because apparently something was wrong with the disc. Hrmp~ Anyways, I watched alone in the room while my sister and her roomate were busy online upstairs.

04 December 2005, Sunday

We initially wanted to go for mass at 9am but we ended up waking up at 11am. Bad~ In the end, we adjust our plan for today to fit in mass at 6pm. We met up with Fong Ling at City Hall Station at 2.30pm. Had SUSHI for lunch at Ichiban Boshi. Not exactly sushi only, I had a set meal. Yakiniku Set which was sizzling beef and vegetables on a hot plate served with rice, sweet bamboo, toufu seaweed soup and oranges. YummY~ I finished almost everything. HEhe~ I even ate one whole teriyaki hand roll. I put too much wasabi. It stinged my lips. HEhe.. The whole fun in eating sushi is the wasabi!!~! We ate at the place with the fountain of wealth. So I actually did made the round.

Directions :
  1. Reach out your right hand and touch the water.
  2. Make a silent wish.
  3. Walk in the direction of the arrow.
  4. Walk around 3 times.

It was fun. My sister and Fong Ling did it too. Hehe.. There were a lot of people walking around the fountain. Hehe~ At night, you can't make the round and make the wish. We did take a few pictures there. After that, we made a quick stop to Orchard Road again. We went into Marks & Spencer to buy cookies, chocolates and tea. Marks & Spencer is a British Chain. They sell clothes to food items. Expensive place though.

Fong Ling lingered around in Orchard for about an hour while my sister and I were at church for mass. The church was nice. Very traditional looking. Nice~ The mass was a bit different from the ones in Kuching but you can't go far since it is still a Catholic church.

We walked all the way to Bugis. My sister showed me Singapore Management University which is all around the church in the city. It'd be great to study there because it is practically in the city. We went into the fifth This Fashion in Singapore. HAhaha.. They sure have a lot of branch in Singapore alone. The things are practically the same.

We were walking inside Seiyu when I saw a curly golden hair, tall guy. Hehe... JOEL~! I was unsure at first but I told my sister and I was right. In the end, he joined us too. We found Fong Ling and we went to Tea Shake Hut to eat. Too bad the place has only like 3 different dish. Other things on the menu are mainly bubble tea drinks and snacks like sio bee, cha siew pau and veggies.

We talked and talked about many funny things. Fong Ling was funny talking about having fun criticizing Singapore Stars. Hehehe.. She really has so much time although she is working as a Software Engineer. She's cool and fun. Her thinking a bit like me. Hehe...

After dinner, Joel had to resume his Christmas shopping. My sister, Fong Ling and I went to OG and bought my mum a pair of shoes. We walked around looking at purse since Fong Ling is in need of a new one. We were on our back by 9.30pm. Fong Ling lives in Bedok while we live at the other end. Hrmp~ Far, far end. Hehe~

That's the end of my trip to Singapore. Tomorrow I leave Singapore at noon to Johor and I'll be back in Kuching by evening. I'll bound to be tired and I know I have lots of dates coming up. I'll try to sort everything out into easy schedules so I won't forget any.

Yummy~ Look! We modelled the food~

My Yakiniku Set Meal. Yummy~

Pear Ice Cream~! Hehe...
