DIGI sent me a postcard last week. I saw the postcard thinking it was just some advertisement about the cartoon but after reading it carefully it said that I was entitled to two free movie tickets to watch ROBOTS on the 18 March which was yesterday. I was suppose to pick it up on either 12 or 13 March between 1-3pm. I only read it on 12 March at around 1pm. Luckily, I read it. So on Sunday, Mike gave me a ride to Star to pick up the tickets. I saw a whole stack of postcards returned to them in exchange for the movie tickets. The time and seats were already set. They also gave a coupon which entitled us to a set of two popcorn and two drinks. So in actual fact everything is paid for. It was so totally worth it. Wait.. I just remembered, parking fee. Haha.. That's the only thing we had to pay for.
So last night, we went to watch ROBOTS! When we got up to Level 9, there were DIGI banners almost every corner and when we got into the cineplex there were DIGI stickers on the wall. It was lucky that we got good seats because the whole cineplex was pack. Some people were sitting all the way in front on row B. A few trailers were shown such as MADAGASCAR and FANTASTIC 4. Madagascar is a cartoon about zoo animals who had it all but blew the life they had on a night out in the city. It looked funny and good. Fantastic 4 by MARVEL comics were good with the sound effects and flying about. So watch out for those in the cineplex soon.
ROBOTS started. I went in with no idea what the cartoon was going to be like so you can say I just went in blindly but to my surprise it was good. Totally hilarious and entertaining. I love the character Fender, who just can't seem to stop talking. The voice is played Robin Williams. I made a guess that it was Robin's voice as I grew up watching his movies which are mostly good. The cartoon talks about survival which also applies in reality. New technologies coming up which means old ones would be replaced.
There were scenes which was so totally like a rollar coaster. I was just so mesmerized by the cartoon that I felt like a little girl all over again. I miss the days when I would just sit in front of the television and enjoy cartoons. The traditional old fashion cartoons. They rarely make those anymore. Nowadays its all about 3-D animation. I still love cartoons. I guess I'm having a hard time leaving my past behind my back. Back then we had less worries and we could just enjoy playing. ~~ Those were the days ~~
I kept laughing and I had to cover my mouth from laughing to loudly. I heard a few adults laughing meaning the cartoon isn't so childish after all. It is quite a spoof of a few movie but I'll let you find out for yourself. The songs they played for certain scenes in the cartoon were good. The songs were what we normally listen to on the radio a few months or years back. I remembered tapping my feet to a few songs.
All I can say is you must watch it if you are a cartoon lover or maybe just let the kid inside you have some fun. I wouldn't mind to watch it again the cinema as the effects and sound are good!! I just love having a good laugh. I remembered I was still laughing by the time we got out of the cineplex. The place was so pack. We ran down the stairs from Level 9 to Level 2. We didn't bother to wait for the lift as everyone else was waiting. I ran down first in my high heels and when I reached Level 2 I stopped and waited for Mike. Its amazing I didn't loose my balance. Mike was about 3 floors above. When he finally got down, he said that I walk too fast. Well, thanks to a few things I learnt from dancing class. Hehe..
Just for your information, everytime you park your car in Medan Pelita to catch a movie it will always cost you RM2.60. I think its fix. I went there almost every month and everytime its the same price. So just prepare RM2.60 everytime and it'll save you a lot of trouble and time by the time you get to the ticket counter. We went to StarBite for dinner. Western~ I ordered Lamb Chop while Mike ordered fish & chips. For drinks, I had chinese tea and Mike had coffee. Weird combination to go with western food, huh?
I was feeling cold and I love traditional chinese tea. I grew up drinking chinese tea and traditional chinese spices. The food were ok except the after effect of black pepper sauce is not so great. Its heaty. The portion of the food is quite big and the atmosphere of the place is nice and soothing with the radio playing 100.1 FM. Right next to StarBite is Point One. They do serve western food too but the music they play is a bit too noisy and the people that hang out there are the type that would just look at you. I don't feel comfortable at places like that.
Mike sent me home by 10.40pm. That is quite early compared to other times. My mum didn't even hear me come in the house. She was upstairs in her room. I went to greet her and she was surprised because she didn't hear me come in. I didn't get into trouble especially since my dad went out and I came back before he did. So I am safe.
To go out late at night, I wouldn't have much in mind except Open Air. Yummy food!! Nowadays I don't have the mood to think of going clubbing or since Kuching has no clubs, pubbing. I guess ever since my sister brought me to the jazz bars in Singapore, when compared to the pubs in Kuching I prefer listening to nice soothing music than the sound of techno blasting in my ear. Kuching has no jazz bar and that's the sad part. I read once in the newspaper that Dennis place in Main Bazaar was thinking of having a piano bar on the upper floor. I wonder if that place really came about cause I wouldn't mind to check it out. I shall try the food in Dennis when I have the chance. I heard that the food is good and the pricing are ok. I love giving myself a treat. Pamper myself with food!! Hehe..
I used to have this craving of drinking alcohol and wine. As the years pass by, I began to choose my drinks right. I prefer drinking cocktails and mocktails compared to just hard liquor or beer. Beer is just bitter. Hard liquor like Bacardi, Chivas Regal or Johny Walker burns and there's no fun in it. Cocktails are mixture of alcohol with sweet syrups or juice which makes the drink tastes nice. Mocktails are just mixtures of drink without alcohol. Wine are only to be taken for special occassion like weddings and functions. White wines is not as bitter as red wine. Though red wine gives you the full effect. My advice to you all, never drink different kind of alcohol with wine at the same time. If you do that you are in for a troubled head and stomach. Hang-overs are no fun. Make that being DRUNK isn't fun at all. If you drink til you are drunk, you are just so totally wasted.
Some people would just throw up but some end up being violent and start fights. Certain people like me would just end up feeling sleepy. One of the reason why I don't normally consume a large amount of alcohol when I'm out with friends in the city. Different people gets different effects but keep in mind, over consumption of alcohol will only kill your brain cells faster. We can't even produce those brain cells anymore. So the more you drink, the more brain cells you kill and then you find yourself not able to store much information in your head. In other words, you are old in the head. =P
I should stop here before I go into the combination of smoking and drinking. If I do start with that everyone would say I sound like the television commercial which I do get most of the time for telling a few of my friends to try to stop smoking though I know it would be hard but at least cut down on the number of sticks you smoke. Don't be like Constantine who smokes 15 sticks a day ever since he was 15. Hahaha.. Though he is just a character in a movie, the effects of smoking is true. Think of how the TAR gets stuck in your lungs killing you bit by bit everyday.Ok, I must stop! This is all for now. In advance, Good LUCK for your exams!
